  1. Smgill75's Billet Silver Rubicon Build

Sorry for the delay. It really depends on the light. Straight on it looks grey, offset on a angle it can be bronze looking. I dont think either detracts from the look.

Thanks. I wound up running a ground strap from the tailgate to, following the cable to a screw near the rear seat belt bracket. I also scraped paint off of the mount. I continuity tested it all, and then the coax connector to the ground stud in the passenger wheel well. All good. I'm running 1 ...

I like that look! Though I will say, since I have the black fenders, I've been digging the contrast between the silver and black. I just like all the variety that makes each Jeep their own.

Thanks! I love having the wide40s on it. Every time I think I'm "done" I have some more items I'm keen to try. GMRS going in now. Thinking I need some skids for Rausch Creek. Contemplating upgrading brakes as well.
  6. Southeast PA - CB Help

I'd like to hear what you decide. How did you ground your CB antenna? I was just starting my install today and broke the NMO cable. Oops. I wound up using a rugged radio front cow mount, but mounted it next to my hi lift mount, sharing a screw. It tests good for ground and I'll run a short...

    Cool! What did you decide?
  8. 35" and 37" JL pics with lift kit

I went with wide 40 for the pattern and have them aimed slightly out. I wanted maximum coverage when cornering a trail at night. I have them all wired to AUX1. If I had them separately, I might have done a driving or spot patten. KC shows a nice description of their patterns.

I wish... but sadly no... I can hum it though
  10. 35" and 37" JL pics with lift kit

No, you do notice that they are there, but they aren't major obstructions. I can take a picture from the driver's seat later and respond hrere.

Thanks!!!! I was initially against 20" wheels, but my shop convinced me to 20s instead of 17s based on my daily driving miles and my on/offroad mix. Their claim was better balancing of the tire / wheel combo and better offroad manners. I still have a good amount of sidewall. It is the reason I...

3.5 JKS Lift with 20x9 Fuel Vapor DDT with 37x13.5r20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Regear to 5.13 as well.
  13. Smgill75's Billet Silver Rubicon Build

Added a KC Hilites Pro6 lightbar. I also got two Pro6 Wide40 beams for the A Pillar mounts. I wired up the bar and A-Pillar lights to AUX1. I love the amount of illumination I get out on the trail at night! Also pictured is the Warn low bull bard that I installed. It looks great, but the...

Nice. I'm curious how you do this in a modular way. Do you have pics? Are you mounting your antennas up front or using the same coax? I appreciate your help.
  15. Southeast PA - CB Help

Awesome! That's great to know. I am just working on my dual antenna mounting. I have a couple brackets I'm thinking of. I'll post pics when done. Are you only doing GMRS or CB as well?

I'm in Chesco. Near Downingtown / Coatesville. Are you running CB and GMRS?
  17. FloridaSun Bilitt Silver JL Build

I love the vapor wheels! I have the same, but 20s wrapped with 37 ridge grapplers in DDT. Looks awesome
  18. Smgill75's Billet Silver Rubicon Build

Added the ARB dual air compressor. Wanted to be able to air up easily, and like the option of a compressor vs cannister. I added a quick connect check behind the front bumper. I used the DV8 engine compartment bracket. I know some are concerns with lifespan based on the engine compartment...
  19. Smgill75's Billet Silver Rubicon Build

First mod to add in was the Warn ZEON 10s. Based on some videos I watched, I decided to go with the ARTEC winch plate. I also had negotiated the steel bumpers with the purchase of the jeep, which is why you see the plastic bumpers in the before picture. BTW, my dealer tried to talk me out of...
