Hi all,
looking for a metal shop who could help me cut/modify some fender liners. Getting some rubbing with a sway bar disconnect and just need to cut out a rectangle. Willing to pay, just don’t have a garage or the tools.
I'm stuck in an apartment building that frowns upon doing mechanical work, plus the space I have has a low ceiling - I'm looking for a recommendation for a mechanic to troubleshoot a grinding noise in the drive train. It's happening going straight at all speeds, and gets faster as I go faster. I...
My regular Jeep is a 2020 3.6 V6 Willys, and it's my daily driver. But it's also my off-road go-to vehicle, and I've gone on 3 Jamborees, driving over 1000 miles to get to them. I regularly drive all over California and Nevada to get to some off-road spots.
I recently flew into Sacramento, and...
Got bit by the aux battery starting to die at 40k miles, and figuring I’d upgrade the fender liners while I’m in there. Any thoughts on what’s worthwhile?
This is an effort to collect some data on the hinge corrosion issue - if your Jeep has experienced this issue, what color is your Jeep?
The fact that it’s so hit-or-miss - some 2018 owners don’t have it, while some 2022 owners already see it happening - I’m curious if there’s any correlation to...
Just curious if you guys do any post-trail inspections after some hard(er) wheeling? I live in an apartment, without a lot of room to lift and get under the Jeep, and she’s running fine. Just wondering how often you guys just check everything for bent parts, loose nuts, etc.
Okay - stupid question of the day…
I bought a replacement rope for my Smittybuilt XRC winch, and when I unspooled the original, I discovered that the existing cable was NOT connected to the drum via a thru-hole in the drum. It’s connected via a flat metal eyelet on the left edge of the drum...
Hi all,
Looking for advice on upgrading the under armor of a 2020 Jeep JLU Willys 3.6.
Currently stock height and stock 32” tires. Not a huge rock crawler, but I regularly tackle rocky, rutted trails, and have definitely had scrapes and crunches, but since this is my daily driver, and I have...
UPDATE - This is SOLD as of July 15th, 2022.
Hi all,
i bought a RollNJack off Kickstarter a few years back, thinking I was moving to a house soon. It’s been in the storage bags since I got it. Just moved to Valley Village….to yet another apartment, and I’m realizing I’m never gonna be in a...
Video from the 2021 Death Valley Jamboree, specifically through Titus Canyon. I wanna do it again. Amazing.
In case you can't make it out, Randy says, "And just like that, the mountains open up and gives birth to 23 beautiful Jeeps!"
Something I observed at a Jamboree event this year was a lot of owners focus on the mechanical upgrades - wheels, tires, lift kits, engine mods - and think the comfort/security upgrades are way too expensive. My JL is a daily driver, and a lot of what I’ve done is for security and comfort...
Hi All,
Just a note here, if anyone else looks for the answer - I have a Slipstream installed (no sub) and was hesitant to get a tailgate table for fear it would prevent the tailgate from shutting with the Slipstream closed.
These concerns were unfounded - the tailgate table works great with...
It's my first Jamboree, so come say hi if you're attending.
If you're not attending, plan accordingly - I understand some of the trails get closed for the special event. Runs Friday/Saturday. There's a mandatory meeting at 8:30am, so your best bet is to hit the trails early and beat the rush.
Hi Guys,
One of the first mods I did was add the metal door to the gas cap area. Had it mounted properly, or so I thought. Last off-road adventure, it popped loose at the bottom. I'm finding I can lean on it and pop the clips back onto the sheet metal, but they continue to pop loose when I...
Hi All,
I attended the Jeep Adventure Academy this weekend at the Hollister Hills SVRA on Saturday. Really great day for beginners! The trails we tackled in the AM were on the edge of most folks' comfort zone, without being too dangerous. The Jamboree team mentioned that they get in a few days...
LED Fog lamps for pickup in Culver City.
Only catch - you take the Sport Bumper they're installed in. :)
If you've got a Sport with the standard fog lights, these are a drop-in fit. They fit in a lot of aftermarket bumpers as well - if you have the Rubicon bumper, they're different and won't fit.
Hey all, just wondering if any of you have been out to Corn Springs Campground off I-10, way out near Blythe? I'm in the mood for a weekend trip to Joshua Tree, and thinking of staying out there overnight. Trying to build out a camping rig for overlanding, so it's an opportunity to test out some...
I live in Culver City and just did a bumper swap. I could probably pull the LED fog lights and sell/ship, but willing to give away if you come and take the bumper, splash guard, and the other small bits. I can even throw in a roller fairlead if you have use for it. Not interested in shipping the...
Hi all,
Im looking for a couple of skid plate brackets from a Rubicon or steel bumper install. Need them for a winch plate install and bumper swap on my 2020 Willys. I know where I can get them online - been looking anywhere in SoCal that actually has a good supply of Mopar OEM parts. So many...
Hi All,
I'm tackling my first major mod to my 2020 Willys, and I keep getting hit with the "one more part" phenomenon.
My goal is to remove the plastic OEM bumper and plastic "splash guard" and replace them with an OEM Rubicon Steel bumper, add a Smittybuilt Winch, and install the OEM front...
