I had same issues when I looked into anyone lockers the spline count on the JL with LSD is different. The dealer I bought from gave me run around and never looked at Dif so when I took to second dealership they opened sif cover and said it looked discolored and they called Mopar who whoever it...
I would love to know also if anyone else has a locker out for these. When I had mine replaced the only option for a locker was ARB. My whole axle was replaced but want to change it to a locker and regear when there are other options.
I picked this up at Wal-Mart, they are each long enough that you cut if half and wrap 2 around each rear seat belt to roll bar. So 1 pack was enough to do mine and wife's jeeps.
Mine had a bad axle shaft in new part and was eating the axle shaft seal after about 20 miles. Took it leaking 2 times before they found it was shaft that was bad. Once they replaced whole shaft assembly its been fine now.
Finally got mine back today. So after axle seal blew they replaced it and new one started leaking again after about 30 miles so they had to tear open differential again and found that the new axle assembly they put in had a bad axle shaft and was eating the seal. So they had to get a new axle...
So my new rear axle came in on Tuesday and they got it all ready to go except one wheel sensor wasn't reading so they have to order a new one which will be 3 days or so. So I went ahead and picked it up this morning and everything looked great no more noise and was good to go. Well drive it home...
Thanks. Mine came in on Tuesday and I dropped it off this morning i don't have full part number on me but I did ask when I dropped it off and my new axle part number ended in AD..
Did they give you the part number for new axle by chance? Mine came in today and goes in on Thursday and am curious if it is different than what is on there now.
Thats kinda what I am hoping maybe some bad batches or assembly along the way. Would just hope this could be a fix. I am wanting to regear and while they have it apart I was going to have shop replace carrier at same time to hopefully fix it for good.
Agree that would be the best option but....... only options right now are 1. Original LSD that will probably go bad again in 6000 miles 2. Open Differential which some shops say will fit and others say they won't without new axle shafts 3. ARB air locker which is way more expensive. Air locker...
Did you have the m220? If so what open dif did they use? I ask because the shops I am talking with say there isn't an open dif that will work with mine. Thanks
Well I have to find another shop at some point that can actually figure it out. My dealer couldn't find anything wrong and just said its probably my wheels and tires.
Thanks for that update. May have to be the route I go. Just got mine back and they said they couldn't find anything wrong said it was most likely my wheels and tires. Lol
