  1. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

Two quick updates, Jeepers! 1. Jeep has sent me an e-mail this morning stating that a check for 100% of the cost of my purchase to replace the Main Battery is on the way!! It may take up to 30 days but the process took less than 24 Hours. I'm extremely surprised. Here's the process that I...
  2. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

Yeah...saw a vid about pulling out the fender flare to get (easy) access to that side of the engine compartment. My concern are the tabs breaking. I don't think it's difficult digging out the Aux Batt from underneath the PDC...just a bunch of steps to worry about. Thanks!
  3. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

Having 13V+ while engine running was my first thought of a problem. However, there were many other forums/YouTube vids that claims this to be the norm.
  4. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

My plan is to dig out the Aux Batt tomorrow and test it. Whoever designed the Aux Batt at MOPAR should be ashamed of themselves!
  5. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

I'm not sure what the problem is. New Batt has 12.6V with engine off. With engine running, voltage is 14.2 (no load) and no less than 13.8 with load (headlights, radio, etc.).
  6. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

We'll see. The info came from the Operations Director. He gave me the receipt from March 2020 when they replaced the original battery and the 800-number for me to call. I'd be returning this MOPAR Battery in a heartbeat and buy a better one!
  7. Replacing jlur starter

I think mine is going out on my 2018 JLUR. I looked under and I can reach the two bolts, but don't have the proper tools to unscrew it due to tight space.
  8. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

Only the replacement battery is still under warranty.
  9. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

I don't disagree, but think that a simple multi-meter would more than suffice. But them again, I'm a YouTube mechanic. Thanks!
  10. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

When the original Main Battery was replaced under warranty March 2020, the replacement battery comes with a new 36-month warranty period. Hence, I'm still in the window. There's also a sticker on the MOPAR battery about this.
  11. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

During the battery replacement on March 2020, a "Multi-Point Inspection" was conducted, but this is nothing more than them trying to find stuff to fix (more $ for them). However, there's a comment on the receipt about "Battery Failed GR8 Test." Not sure what that test consists of, but that's...
  12. Reimbursement for Item Under Warranty (Battery Replacement, Again)

I'm now on my third Main Battery in as many years. My JLUR was one of the first JL's to roll off the line, delivery acceptance was April 2018. On March 2020, I took the vehicle into a dealership due to starting problems and the Main Battery was replaced under warranty. It's now Nov 2021 and...
  13. Max Payload for Overlanding

Yup. I’m trying to cut weight as much as possible, but I’m still over 850lbs. There’s not much left after two people, the Rack, and the RTT. Thanks!
  14. Max Payload for Overlanding

That's the ballpark of my weight as I have it on my spreadsheet. I'm thinking that if I keep it within the payload limit, I wouldn't have to put better/bigger breaks. I'm gonna opt out of bigger tires and stay with factory 33" wheels and the Rubicon lift. I figure I'm not gonna be hitting...
  15. Max Payload for Overlanding

    Good to confirm! Thanks!
  16. Max Payload for Overlanding

sweet! I’ll be entering Canada in Winnipeg as I grew up there and I’ll make my way across the prairies to Edmonton before hitting the Rockies! Thanks!
  17. Max Payload for Overlanding

I ate MRE's for years as a Combat Marine. I'll gladly try a fridge with a battery bank and solar panels :)
  18. Max Payload for Overlanding

I hear you. Payload is not to exceed 850lbs. I'm not worried at all about the 3,500 lbs of towing and I'm actually consider dragging a trailer with me instead so that I wouldn't have to worry about weight. The way it's looking in my spreadsheet is that my payload is 1,200lbs. A ton doesn't...
  19. Max Payload for Overlanding

Exactly and Good tip with the water! My original plan was to bring two five-gallon jugs (military water can), and then remembered how heavy they can be (pushing 50 lbs each jug). My plan now is to bring a minimum amount of water and filter from whatever source I come across. Thanks!
