Has anyone tried this one yet: Ecodiesel Engine Oil Filter 68507598AA 68498720AA Compatible with Jeep 2021 Wrangler JL,2021 Gladiator,2020-2021 Ram 1500 DT. I appears to be identical to the OEM including the part no. and the green seal that appears on the OEM.
I picked one up for my oil change...
I have been legitimately STOPPED by men at gas stations twice now who briskly walk up yelling "That's diesel! You'll ruin your engine." Bro... it IS a diesel.
Still cannot beat the time in rural Kentucky that a man came out of an auto parts store to stop me from putting DEF in the diesel. He...
I really like this set-up! I do a good bit of camping and sleep in my JLURD with a DeepSleeps mattress but always need more space for the dogs. Would you recommend this set-up and durability? Thanks!
I opted for a Rubicon in 2020 before the High Altitude trim came out and I'm really glad I did. I did a custom paint job on my Roam rock rails and custom paint on the OEM steel bumper/mirrors because I did like the "all white look" of the HT trim. I'm 5'4" and usually on the road but I would not...
My 2020 JLURD is my daily-driver.
I added every option available in early 2020 (so essentially the only thing I am missing is the Front Facing Trail Cam). I can 100% attest to loving and using the ACC. It is awesome on long-drives and really comfortable in traffic. I recently did an Atlanta to...
I'm in the same boat-- I just had the fix installed yesterday and while the steering feels better, I have a 2020 EcoDiesel and I swear that FCA and the dealerships are like "huhhh?" on all things diesel. Hoping that it is not a safety issue in the future.
@sherif JKU I'm still rocking the dying goose but I'll definitely bring it back to the dealer at some point and see if they can fix. I bet it's that the horn is only working on one side. It builds character, right? Hah!
Oh no! I'm in Georgia too! So sorry to hear that your rig was on the receiving end of a tree from last night's storm. Hopefully everything goes well and insurance can get it fixed ASAP!
Thanks for the insight. I was tempted to discuss this new service bulletin with my original Dealer. Any thoughts? I would rather not have binding issues and it seems the diesel has its own steering box component parts.
A few things I have learned--
1. Never let the door-stop "pop" all of the way back into the door after taking off to go door-less. It will take an aggressive amount of willpower to wrench that door-stop back out and you will lose a nail or rough a knuckle (which I tend to do every time I mess...
Wait, that is awesome! I am in the Alpharetta/Roswell area as well and my dealer was Palmer Dodge. Any idea if they are going to make a stink about lifted Jeeps/aftermarket work? My JLURD has a LOT of flex in the steering box so a swap to steel would be ideal. Thoughts or contacts with Palmer...
Hey Y'all,
I'm running bigger tires and a lift on my JLURD but have tried to be smart and safe in developing my build with respect to daily drive-ability. I had noticed some less than ideal steering and was surprised because I have a Metalcloack 2.5" True Dual (upgraded spring rating) w/ Fox...
Talked to my group and they used a Metalcloak 2.5" Lift but called Metalcloak and received a higher rated spring with a different part number-- they are looking for the part number but it was not the usual 2.5" lift kit. Definitely call Metalcloak and let them know its a Diesel before ordering.
Great question-- my group may have used different springs from the 3.6 because I was so concerned over the extra weight from the Diesel. I will be in the shop for a re-torque and some additional bells and whistles next week and will ask. I will reach back out when I have the answers.
It's honestly been phenomenal. No complaints whatsoever. City/highway driving feels great and it handles well on the few off-road areas I have ventured into.
Not a trail/rock-crawling by any stretch of the imagination but dang does she looks good off of asphalt and in the country. :)
Always have to look back at her.
I defer to your own personal assessment for which trim level to go with, but, if you are attempting to hit the 6,000LB threshold as a business owner for tax purposes under Section 179, only the fully loaded 4-Door Rubicon trim w/ Diesel engine will get you to the GVW you need to qualify. Just...
