More or less yes except the end that I see is broken is the eylet end. Except it’s not an eyelet on the jl. But could work. I’ll get a picture when it’s daylight.
On my way to a friends house yesterday I noticed the passenger side of the soft top blowing out over the door rails. upon further inspection it seems as if the front part of the tension cable is either broken or disconnected. Has anyone tackled replacing this?
I did forget to mention this. My JK did not have a hard top but my JL came with one. Not needing the knobs is a nice touch. I ended up getting a soft top shortly after.
Having owned a JK and a current JL here are my two cents. To answer your initial question the answer is no. Especially if you are considering the diesel. While the diesel does provide gobs of torque, the extra cost simply isn't worth it imo.
