The rockhard bumper in the above picture is rated to flat tow with optional attachment points for a tow bar. The flat tow attachments and the 2 inch receiver are both options, the standard bumper does not include either option, but they are available from the factory.
Thanks for those pictures, I'll have a similiar setup once my flat tow setup is complete. I have a 2011 Dodge 3500 crew cab dually with an arctic fox truck camper, and plan to setup my 2018 JLUR to flat tow. Enjoy!
Thanks for the input, one more question, if you want to go topless is it an issue to remove the sunrider? We had the top and doors off over the 4th of July weekend, and really enjoyed that, so I wouldn't want to make it much more difficult to do that again.
I am considering the same purchase as the OP - one question, does the top when open collect bugs while driving with it open, and then when you fold it back down you have dead bug splatter on the "roof" over your head in the jeep?
I would get the steel bumper group, the winter package with heated steering wheel, the tow group, and the proximity door entry. We bought used, so I was unable to pick and choose. We have the winter group and the proximity door entry - love them both, but I was unable to find a used one in my...
Hi Terminex,
Apologies for reviving such an old conversation, but was wondering how your flat tow setup mentioned above worked out? Thanks.
Edited - found your post that said it worked out with longer bolts required.
Do you have any pictures of the front that you wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks.
Thanks for the picture and the explanation - Did you notice if the front sway bars and any other items in the front that would normally be behind the factory steel skid plate were more exposed after the Currie Tow bar? Also, the connector mounting in the front, is that where you decided to place...
Hi dgreen, like you I intend to use the ReadyBrute tow bar and was planning to use the Maximus-3 tow loops. Were you able to make this work? Anything you would have done differently?? Thanks!
Never checked the mpg, but ride quality was excellent on my 2018 JLU sport with rubicon take off 28570r17 KO2's and had zero rub issues.
TN mountains sometimes I've had vehicles hunt for a suitable gear while climbing on the interstate. The 8 speed automatic and the 3.6L engine performed so...
Recently swapped the factory wheels and tires on our Sport S to rubicon take offs with the KO2 tires - the ride quality is still excellent (no lift yet). Tiny bit of additional tire noise, but not at all objectionable, and still very smooth and quiet.
I have driven a few JL stock rubicons and...
Regarding average fuel mileage you will see about 20 mpg from the 3.6, about 25 with the 2.0, and about 30 from the diesel.
The torque specs from the 2.0 is closer to the diesel, than is the 3.6 which is counter intuitive, of course the diesel makes the most torque.
I was very surprised by the...
