On my 3.6, a friend and I installed an ARB twin compressor under my driver seat. We no longer have space to work on our jeeps, so I went to my local 4x4 mechanic who says with the 4xe you can’t install under the seat. Does this seem right to you? Have you installed anywhere?
I'm looking at this now- hows everyone feel about the quality of the steel? will it scratch easily? did anyone get the bumper bar and does it interfere with the front cam. Lastly- can you use a magnet license plate holder you think? I only ask as I cross the border a lot into Baja and need it...
Ordered mid oct and just got cryptostickers saying a build sheet and sticker was found. The sticker price is much higher than what I negotiated, but I assume that’s normal and the dealer will honor what’s agreed to.
I’m thinking just another few weeks if the sticker was found. Wahooo! What’s...
Yeah- thank you so much. And I def shop around- mind annoy the dealer but when something costs this much, I treat it like a business and try to make the best decisions without impulse. I appreciate the recommendation!
Its amazing how good the prices are in Idaho. I would love Kent's contact. Rob does have good pricing, but I've been able to get a good offer from another Idaho dealer and Jim Marsh in Vegas which really is a day trip. That being said, a couple thousand dollars helps, so I'd love to look at one...
Sure. Maybe boring isn’t the right word. Weak? How’s that for you? I know for me downshifting to 4th because 5th and 6th feel useless isn’t always a fun kind of excitement when it’s just trying to keep 70mph on the 5. But yeah, it’s fun shifting around on the trails and flat roads.
I can’t wait to trade my manual 2020 Sahara in for an 8spd. I love my Sahara, but four visits to the shop between recalls and slipping and burning, with finally a new clutch under warranty sealed the deal.
The stick is so boring on the Highway- downshifting to fourth if you wanna pass anyone...
Thanks. Emailed him. And Dennis Dillon in Idaho. Lots of work to get a 4xe!
this is all really helpful, thank you. Did you do a trade in as well? Mind me asking what you ended up spending?
I’ve made a lot of calls and emails here in LA on ordering a 4xe (currently have a JL 3.6 6spd- eager to get a 4xe), and it’s certainly more confusing than I anticipated. Hemet won’t quote me on ordering without coming in (3hrs away), Ventura Crown Jeep says no deal until a vehicle I would order...
Jeeps in the shop getting a new clutch under warranty- slipping and burning. Pressure plate issue. Finally- fourth time I had taken it in saying the clutch was an issue.
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with this problem. I have a slight hill for a driveway, and back my teardrop camper in (no choice) and it stresses me out everytime because I end up with burning clutch smell that lingers and feel nervous each time. I’ll try 4 low for sure now but that seems...
Reduced torque? Ewe. 5th and 6th gear are a joke unless you’re heading downhill. I can’t imagine reduced power.
I love a stick but... this has been my least favorite manual vehicle in terms of the transmission.
