  1. 3.6 l Engine Oil Type

I am certain some of the first analysis wear reduction was due to the final break in period but half of the oil analysis were done after 20k miles. It was a impressive difference the first analysis going from 0w20 to 0w30.
  2. 3.6 l Engine Oil Type

I started off using 0w20 as the manufacturer calls for. I did a couple of oil analysis. I then read some articles about 5w30 being the optimum weight for the majority of all water cooled automotive engines. So, I switched from Amsoil 0w20 to Amsoil 0W30. Then I had another oil analysis ran, my...
  3. 3.6 l Engine Oil Type

You are entitled to your opinion about Amsoil. Amsoil, nor any Amsoil blog provided me with any information in regards to 0w30 or 5w30 being the optimum weight to protect most water cooled engines. Clearly the switch to thinner and thinner oils is for CAFE numbers. The goal of Chrysler and any...

  6. 3.6 l Engine Oil Type

My current fill is Amsoil Signature Series 0w30. As someone mentioned above 20 weight oil is for CAFE numbers which only a computer could measure the benefits. 5w30 or 0w30 weight oils are the optimum weight to protect the majority of all water cooled engines. I have read over information from...
  7. When did you do your first oil change.....?

I too am a firm believer in the superior quality of Amsoil products. I used to be a Pennzoil guy. I tried Royal Purple a few times as well. After I seen Project Farm YouTube oil championship and how Amsoil dominated to competition, I was sold. I swapped out my engine oil, transfer case and both...
  8. Used Oil Analysis

You are looking for wear trends to see if your engine is wearing better or worse than similar engines. If certain wear metals are higher than normal it could indicate internal issues inside the engine or even give insight into a coolant leak or failing air filter. It is a great tool to see the...
  9. Borla cat back touring vs S

I have the touring on a 2020 JLU 3.6. It sounds good with no drone. It is not loud. However, if I had it to do over, I would have gotten the S. The touring tailpipes sit differently than the S. The S is more flush with the bumper. It looks better in my opinion.
  10. Break in period

I dumped my factory fill at 1500. Got the the initial break in metals out and put in a new filter. I have done that with every new vehicle I have owned. My oil analysis always come back great. I also dumped my factory fill differential fluids at 17k. The front differential fluid was in good...
  11. First Oil Change

Do it yourself and you know it's done right. The dealership goes as fast as they can and haphazardly does the job. By the way if you are interested in Amsoil oil for your vehicles, I am a dealer. Send me a message, I would be glad to answer any questions.
  12. Factory fill?

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't planning on changing the transmission fluid. I was just curious who made it and if it was of high quality. The differential fluid from the factory didn't seem like anything special. Glad I dumped it, the rear was dark but the front was still light in color.
  13. 3.6 - For Those Running Premium Fuel

I have switched over to non-ethenol 87 octane. I had a spark knock or low load " rattle". It was better when I used higher octane fuel. I decided to try non-ethenol with a bottle of Amsoil PI Performance Improver. It is significantly better with non-ethenol gas. So, I now fill up with...
  14. Factory fill?

I have a 2020 JLU Sport Altitude 3.6. I have dumped and changed over the differentials to Amsoil Severe Gear. Fairly easy process and I think the Amsoil is most definitely an upgrade. My question is this: Who makes the factory fill on the ZF 8 speed automatic transmission fluid? What do you...
  15. Feedback on RGT Oil (Thus Far)

Nice break down of information. At the clearance price you got it for and only 5k oil change intervals, you are good to go. Seems like a good oil at a great price.
  16. Used Oil Analysis

I use Blackstone Labs and NAPA pre-paid. I get the NAPA pre-paid off Amazon.
  17. How do you tell if you have M-200 or M-220?

I looked up my build sheet. M-200 75w-140.
  18. How do you tell if you have M-200 or M-220?

I have a 2020 JLU Sport Altitude. I want to confirm I have a M-200 and not the M-220. I appreciate your help.
  19. Oracle Oculus Bi-Led foggy lenses

They were stored in the house until installed. It was around 45 degrees today during install and in the 30's tonight. I drove the Jeep for about 45 minutes tonight and came home to find the fog. There was no fog on the lenses earlier today but it was still daylight and only the halo ring was on.
