  1. Overheating issues 2023 JL

That's good info. My 2018 Wrangler JL 3.6 left me stranded on the side of the Interstate a half dozen times with actually overheating and steam coming out of the hood. Yet no warning light ever coming on. It was in the Savannah, GA dealer almost every month for 30 months. I knew ever service...
  2. 3 months at the dealership for repair under warranty. Help!

The dealer had my 2022 Wrangler at the same time, Oct-Nov 2023 for 6 weeks to replace the Diesel Particulate filter. They only allowed me to have a loaner for 1 week. Fortunately I have a 10-year car I routinely drive around which saved me.
  3. My EcoDiesel MPG cratered

I had a friend who this morning basically said what you did. Which makes a lot of sense. I asked myself how does a vehicle go into a dealership at 27-29mpg and come out with 30% less mpg? I kept focusing on the DPF, not knowing much about it, but no forum members have opined that it has...
  4. My EcoDiesel MPG cratered

An injector cleaner would be a simple and inexpensive attempt at getting the MPG back. I'll try to research a good effective one for diesels and buy it
  5. My EcoDiesel MPG cratered

That makes sense to me with regeneration. Thanks
  6. My EcoDiesel MPG cratered

Good question. = No modifications/upgrades. The trip to the dealership for the DPF and sensor were only "change" to vehicle. My son, who is a middle aged man, bought an EcoDiesel shortly after driving mine. The one difference between his and mine and he has a soft top. His mileage is also 27-29.
  7. My EcoDiesel MPG cratered

Thanks for reading the above and sharing any insight into what this may be. AL
  8. My EcoDiesel MPG cratered

Could you help explain why my mileage cratered? I need to start from the beginning: I bought my 2022 JL Wrangler new and drove it home the first week of February 2022. Until 13,500 miles I always got 27mpg around town and 29mpg if I got on I-81. The mileage never deviated. The dealership is...
  9. UAW and Stellantis Reach Tentative Agreement

The last three words of the OP post "defined benefit pensions" As I understand it, back in 2008 when we had the depression, excuse me - great recession, the contract concessions by the UAW was new employees would not get a pension just a 401k and that is also when they installed a new tier...
  10. Need 3.0 opinions from potential newbie

I've been on both sides of the road. I had a 2018JL purchased August, 2018 with the 3.6L I've posted about the engine several times on the forum with overheating problems. I traded it in on a 2022 Wrangler EcoDiesel in February 2022 and couldn't be happier. I average 27MPG around town and...
  11. Possible Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Gauge Malfunction May Have Caused Engine Block Warp

Unfortunately I don't have a thing. At the time I had a notebook going with all the service sheets inside. When I bought the diesel and traded in I tossed the notebook out with glee and moved on. You should try and get all current owners with problems to coordinate with you.
  12. Possible Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Gauge Malfunction May Have Caused Engine Block Warp

I had a long thread on this about 18 months ago. A 2018 JL 3.6 purchased new August 2018 with monthly overheating since new. I was on a first name basis with the service techs at both Savannah, GA dealers. My analog gauge always read in the same precise location even when sitting at a rest...
  13. ecoMPG's

I like all your data. But mine differs from yours quite a bit. I have a 2022 base Wrangler EcoDiesel with a hardtop and tow package. It is 25 miles to town, 25 miles back. So I do a lot of 50-60 mile trips and I'm always right around 27mpg. When I go out on I-81 my mileage is always around...
  14. What do I buy for a new Jeep Girl? Just bought her a 4XE

May you and your wife never meet my wife. My gift to her was a $50 Amazon card for Christmas and a $25 Amazon card for her birthday. But that's what living on Social Security will do to you.
  15. Best Air Filter at O'Reilley or Autozone?

Agree. I changed my EcoDiesel engine and cabin air filter at 17 months and 13,000 miles and was astonished at how dirty they were. I assume they were doing their job by how much dirt/dust they were trapping. I'm now cutting it down to every 12 months irregardless of mileage. Also, the last...
  16. Driving cross country and sleeping in my JLU

It is great you are doing it now. But stay away from the water, that stuff will kill ya. I stop every 90 minutes for a McD coffee, then another, and another, and .... by the time I get to my destination I'm speed talking. Question: Do the rear headrest remove? I'm 6ft 3.5" / 182lb and was...
  17. Driving cross country and sleeping in my JLU

A life well served. This thread has helped me; as a bear hunter I now have some good ideas on how to stay up on the mountain overnight. At least when it's not butt cold. Safe travel's to Florida.
  18. Driving cross country and sleeping in my JLU

I thought I had a lot of time. I went in Jan, 1980 and retired Jan, 2008. I was never at Lewis and just TDY to FT Carson. 34 years? amazing
  19. Driving cross country and sleeping in my JLU

Army RN = when did you serve?
  20. Towing capacity & Manual vs Auto Thoughts

I recently had a thread on wanting to purchase and tow a boat up to 8 hours away. I was looking for a dory cabin boat in the 18-21ft range (extremely hard to find). My Wrangler is a 2022 Sport with the EcoDiesel, auto, and factory hitch, so different than yours. Nevertheless I found the...
