Thanks for the tips and support @Blues Fan 30 , @rcadden , @Bill_BCNtoNY , and @Badbear0416 , and @Mudduck
That's pretty close to what I did. I used AutoTrader and found a fairly comparable new old stock 2023 Sarge Green JLUR with a soft top, leather seats, and cold weather group. The...
Thanks for the tip. Bummer that Hawk in Illinois no longer "participates." That is where we got our 2020 JLUR. Jason Beltran must have left.
EDIT: Looks like he's still there. Wonder why they are no longer preferred, as he was a class act.

As an update, I found a few Sarge Green JLURs. Most through AutoTrader, one through CarMax. A few with soft tops. Nothing local. Currently negotiating what seems like the best option (not the one with the lemon title). ;)
Thank you everyone for your support! It provided much-needed stress...
Good question. My wife is dealing with them now. Do you repair Jeeps with salvage titles?
Not sure. We've got a possibly better prospect, but will ask if it falls through.
Good tip for a good resource to check. I checked Carvana and you are right, no green.
We had full coverage. They are totaling the Jeep. Unless I am mistaken, they are giving us $45k, which they put in writing. Haven't gotten a check yet, as we were considering a 2nd opinion on the repairs.
Thanks for the tip. We already tried, as my wife loves to negotiate deals. I feel the price is perfectly fair after doing a bunch of research. The did offer within $10k of the original price.
Thanks. I'm so swamped right now, even on top of the baby, and you gave me a good reality check about taking our time and possibly getting an inexpensive sedan.
Thanks again. Ex GF and ex 1973 CJ-5.
$45k, which I believe is fair when compared to what we paid for it.
The frame was twisted...
Thanks for the tip about the dash. That explains it.
We really aren't in a position to pay for a new JLUR, as that would be another $20k over the insurance. We would also need to spend a lot on a rental while waiting, especially due to the union strike.
Thanks again.
Hi friendly JL'ers,
Our beloved 2020 custom-ordered Sarge Green JLUR was declared totaled yesterday due to an accident and my wife is thoroughly depressed. She's still not sure how it happened.
As you may be able to see in the pics below, the impact to the front bumper torqued the frame...
No option was an exact fit, so I voted:
Yes. It's a Jeep thing.
No. Price is out of control.
Love Jeep Wrangers. Have owned one almost continuously for 30 years and currently own a JLUR. Love the style, soft top, 4x4, and many other features.
A big change was having a baby last December...
Speaking of speaking of motorcycles, I should probably get rid of my Ducati to be safer.
That being said, I live in, and ride my Duc in, the heart of a big city, mainly to get to soccer games. I also ride a bicycle. With all the stoplights, stop signs, and backed up street traffic, I'm lucky...
I agree with your whole post, but found that portion mildly amusing. Of course people buying a house on any given day will likely be buying at the highest point in memory. It's called inflation and appreciation.
Kind of like when Apple says the latest iPhone is the most powerful iPhone yet...
Thanks for the tip. Although, doesn't that "limitation" give better warranty coverage than stock? I wouldn't expect them to provide a forever warranty and, from what I can tell, our stock windshields have zero warranty, so that limitation is more of a benefit in that they actually will cover...
Just got our third cracked windshield within one year of JL ownership. Thank goodness for windshield replacement being fully covered under comprehensive insurance.
At this rate, we will soon be on a first name-basis with the techs at the local SafeLite.
Hooray... Our second crack in just a little over 6 months and under 10k miles from driving the Sarge off the lot.
As we have now had two cracks, the second one qualifies my wife to be a member of the Cracked Windshield Club along with me. Our next crack will qualify our cat to join!
Brought the Sarge in for our first 6-month oil change.
There was also a problem with the top rattling. I had isolated the problem to an arm of the top knocking against a bolt of the frame above the driver side rear passenger door, where I then put a tissue to stop the rattling. Apparently the...
