35s and 4.88 would be overkill and your 1st gear shift would be instant IMO. I already start out in 2nd unless Iām at a completely dead stop. Only reason to go 4.88 is if youāre already thinking 37ās. Even then, you can still wheel with 4.56ās and 37s.
Iāve been considering these seat covers vs the PRPās. Just wondering what is the material of the covers? I know their website says polyester, but anything comparable on what they feel like?
Oracle Oculus 9ā Bi-LED Headlights for JL / JT. Super sharp cutoff. Includes wiring to hook up the halo ring. These are plug and play, no need for a reflash.

Selling because I want something more stock looking. Used for about 4 months. I am open to trade offers for ONLY the...
I was reading through this thinking I knew exactly what he was talking about. Iām glad my family had other plans for me that day.
On a side note if either of you decide to hit up Crawl 4 the Cure this July hit me up. Itās a great event.
I have Engine, transmission, and gas aluminum skid plates from M.O.R.E. (https://mountainoffroad.com). I went with them for two reasons: 1. Itās less weight and 2. Itās made in America. Yes they are not cheap but they do 20% off sales about every holiday so Iād just wait until then and get it...
If youāre going to do any kind of major upgrade (t-case, gears, axles) you really canāt think about return value. You have to consider ānowā value. Iāve accepted that thereās no way in hell my Jeep is returning back to stock, or at least not on my dime. Iāve been selling off the stock stuff at...
When I was out wheeling with a large group in July I was hearing the same stuff. It was pretty hot a few days and many people were watching those trans temps. As many others have said on here the āput it in a gear and let it crawlā factor of the manual with this 4:1 transfer case is amazing. I...
Well said and straight on.
^That is me 100%. At this point, and Iām sure youāre the same way, Iāve put too much into my non-rubicon to go back. Itās also pride in building. Cheers!
Agreed. If youāre running 35ās, 6-speed manual, and the stock 3.45 gears Iād HIGHLY recommend regearing. I personally went to 4.56 and it now drives like stock. I regeared when I was running 33ās because it was so bad. I couldnāt imagine running 35ās on 3.45.
Iād remove the transfer case skid plate, cross members, everything holding it up. That will help out. Youāll have to brace the transfer case but it should make disconnecting everything better. Youāll also want a healthy choice of socket extensions and swivel sockets. Youāll want two people to...
I finally got my rubicon transfer case installed. It was a bit more work then others I had mentioned in different threads. Also the place I ordered it from sent the wrong one, but they were wonderful to work with and sent me the correct one. Overall time to install Iād say in the 8~hour range...
Iām going back in that area today. I just updated the map and I see the pipeline road aka 55552 is now limited to 65ā wide vehicles. š
Well it was fun the one time I went on that trail. I was really looking forward to this now that Iām on 35s. Guess Iāll explore the area some more and see what...
Q: Would I need different driveshafts w/ the Rubicon case?
A: No
Q: I think the 8AT needs a specific T-case as well as a 2dr, but not sure???
A: T-case has to be transmission specific but not door specific. Youāll need to get a rubicon transfer case for an automatic. There is a different one...
Found it off car-part.com. Ended up getting it from Tri-State salvage. They said itās new but it was clearly taken out of something. When I called to ask about it the guy said it was from someone who did a Hemi swap right away. I will say it looks brand new outside of some grease on the input...
Iām also sitting on a rubicon t-case that I plan on installing here in the next week or two. Anyone know the torque specs on these different bolts?
Edit: Google is your friend. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/torque-values-for-jeep-jl-wrangler.17791/page-2#post-518107
Ahhh.. Yeah. That case Iād get 4.88ās. You might lose some top-end speed but itās a jeep.. not a race car. Best of luck. If you have any more questions feel free to DM me. Iām not on the board often but will respond to DMās.
Pic of my setup for reference
I have your same setup (30/44 combo, 6-speed). Trust me, regearing brings your jeep back to life. Iām running 4.56ās with 35ās. Itās like driving a stock jeep again. Other added weight is factory steel rear bumper, LoD mid-width front bumper, winch, MORE aluminum skid plates.
4.88ās might be a...
