  1. Why am I not doing this?

As a 2018 JL 3.6L owner, please offer me reasons why it would be a bad idea to to today, go out and preventatively buy myself a replacement main battery like this beauty...
  2. Ok, so somebody was eventually going to ask

4xe owners: how hard do you think it might be to move the charging port into the engine bay, and run a charging port extension cord that leads, say, out of the grill, (or leads out someplace) and replace the driver's side cowl with the standard non 4xe cowl so I can get my cowl-attached roof...
  3. Flipping JLs from 3.6L to 4xe

I love my 3.6L 2018 Sahara. Still more, I'm an infrequent driver. I work from home, especially since Covid I shop a lot from home, and most of trips are short and infrequent. To restate, I'm the kind of driver who could use his 4xe mostly on electric only. Sure, I'd run the engine by choice...
  4. Genesis Lite

@Genesis Offroad @Jebiruph @WranglerMan Perhaps this exists. Perhaps this shouldn't exist. The stock 3.6L JL's use of dissimilar battery types in its ESS/Aux electrical system is a flawed less than optimal design. Hooking up batteries in parallel to an alternator this way is not ideal, and...
  5. Quick Question ; - )

Is it okay to remove that cumbersome box under the back seats of the 4xe that Stellantis left there to fit these awesome cargo bags, whose size makes them almost tailored made for the space: ;) https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jeep-humor-waiting-room-no-politics.4525/post-1488436
  6. Your most used Tazer JL features

What are the top few things, say, no more than 5 things, you use your Tazer JL for? Funny enough, for me, it's the "constantly on" rear camera, when pressing the "Mute" radio button twice, that gets most use when I'm carrying gear that obscures the rear view mirror.
  7. Tazer JL Mini firmware upgrade and unmarrying

If you want to remove your Tazler JL Mini from your vehicle for purposes of taking the unit indoors to connect to a computer and upgrade its firmware from Z Automotive, you do unmarry it first, correct? Thanks.
  8. Status of Cranking 4xe in extremes of temperature

Hi all: I can't find the thread (or posts) but it's been discussed here how the 4xe's owner's manual has detailed situations where extremes of temperature, in fact extremes not unlikely to be seen in the States, prevent the 4xe from starting. Has this ever been resolved in terms of its...
  9. LOD Offroad and the 4xe

@lodoffroad : Guys, I guess demand always fuels your priorities when there are only so many workers and near infinite demands, but do you think that a redesign of the driver's side cowl attachment point to your JL roof rack might be in the pipeline give the geniuses at Stellantis decided to put...
  10. Tazer JL Mini Extended Warranty

    Worth it?
  11. Tazer JL Mini vs Lite: Pick Features

What features of the Mini might you wish the Lite had? What features of the Lite could you live without? I wish the Lite had backup camera on continually functionality.
  12. What were they thinking?

Looking back on the JL since 2018, what's the top thing that you think FCA...I mean Stellantis just got plain old fashion absolutely wrong about the model? I know, despite us loving their vehicle there's no shortage of stuff to choose from (like ESS.) My current beef is why the charging port...
  13. Refurbished Tazer reported not compatible with JL

This Tazer, as reported on the forum https://www.zautomotive.com/product/refurbished-tazer/, is not, as told to me from Ian at Z Automotive in email, compatible with the JL. Last evening I texted Joe, Z Automotive's owner, at 631-533-3363 to confirm this and he agreed, this linked product is...
  14. Rear Camera On at will Options

I own Jscan, not Tazer. I got the former when I did because it was great for configuring after market proximity locks. Otherwise I have no preference for either product. What I would like is to be able to keep the factory back camera on for as long as I'd like, not just the 8 or so seconds it...
  15. One battery two batteries red battery blue battery

Yeah: an adopted Dr. Seuss title: @Jebiruph Jerry has been kind and smart enough to show us how to set up wiring and switches in our 3.6L JL/JT to allow for the operation of its dual battery system in 4 ways: a) factory, b) main battery only, c) ESS/Aux battery only, or d) both batteries in...
  16. Hood Deflectors and minimized windshield damage?

I got an email solicitation recently from a MOPAR vendor making this claim for the JL, of course with the end goal of selling me a Hood Deflector. Something tells me this hasn't exactly been studied in some wind tunnel with highly controlled size debris, fired at different speeds and angles of...
  17. Top 10 things Jeep should have done WITHOUT.

I enjoyed reading this recent thread: Top 10 things Jeep should have done We as Wrangler owners are a smart and involved bunch; and that's good. Pretend you're an FCA exec looking to control costs. What features would you get rid of, or maybe make optional so as to allow the addition of some...
  18. Refurbished Z Automotive JL Tazer Mini

Can anyone provide me with reasons to---if committing to buying a Z Automotive JL Tazer Mini anyway, to NOT buy one of their refurbished ones and save $65? Refurbished Z Automotive JL Tazer Mini * Because it might be scratched: married or unmarried, who'se going to see it? * Initial...
  19. What's your running voltage?

Hi: Especially for 3.6L JL owners--as opposed to the other engine/propulsion JL offerings--when riding around, what do you find the voltage reading on your dash to be? Does it tend to be higher when first cranking...does it tend to settle down for you on a voltage number with a certain number...
  20. Voltage Differences

Why do you think my test of voltage at the main battery's terminals would read 12.5V, but 12.0V in the instrument cluster when pressing the start button twice without hold down the brake, so as to not crank the engine? Thanks.
