  1. Hammerhead rock rails -- anyone using them??

Getting rust at the seams after 1 winter season and no off-roading.
  2. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

There are molex crimping tools but I usually crimp carefully without specialty tools. Just buy extra connectors and practice :) there’s a great YouTube video on crimping similar connectors without tools:
  3. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

    1. Honestly I don't remember how I exactly got to the part number, I think I started my search with the connector itself -- and found that on Molex's website (whom I knew is the OEM manufacturer for these). The pins were listed as compatible with the connector. I'd try taking down all the...
  4. Harbor Freight Badland Apex 12,000# Winch Lower Price

Anyone know the Max amp draw on these? Can’t find it in the manual. did anyone wire with a solenoid/relay instead of kill switch, what’d you use? did anyone wire this to factory aux switches? thanks
  5. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

Yes! Worked perfectly. Dealership flashed and buttons work.
  6. Depinning videos for central terminal connectors?

I ended up using the flat bit. But honestly I think any thin precision screwdriver will work, the key is to press on the correct side. My original image was incorrect, need to press on the opposite side of the pin.
  7. Depinning videos for central terminal connectors?

Ordered a simple Amazon pin tool kit and got the wires out. Note that my initial picture was incorrect, the release is on the other side of the yellow circle.
  8. Depinning videos for central terminal connectors?

Looks like you need to get into the red circle and not the yellow. Waiting for smaller pin removal tools to try -- will keep the group posted.
  9. Depinning videos for central terminal connectors?

Looks like here is what Molex recommends for removal -- got to get under the pin into the tiny whole. https://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/ats/ATS-638131500.pdf
  10. Depinning videos for central terminal connectors?

I am doing the Aux Switch install on my JT and of course follow your work here on the JL forums. As many others, I am stuck at step 20 of depinning the orange wire (#13) from the existing gray harness in the passenger footwell. After a search I saw people state they used needles, pin tools and...
  11. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

see my reply above, pretty sure I tracked down the correct terminals. $7 shipped for 10. Bought extras just in case.
  12. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

I agree -- but i broke the orange connector and several of the others (the ones that go into the switch itself). So finding and installing new connectors seems like a necessary step for me. I get why you'd want to tap the orange if that's the only consideration.
  13. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

Is there something I am missing? I clip the old connector, attach the new connectors, and solder the wire to the new connector. This seems clean and OEM.
  14. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

Ok, for future reference i think i figured it out. I got the technical documents for one of the components from the Aux Install switch kit -- Molex 334710201 (https://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0334710201_CRIMP_HOUSINGS.xml). In the technical documents it says that...
  15. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

I considered tapping but I broke the orange wire connector and a couple of the others (the ones used for the plug). I didn’t see any posts of anyone replacing the terminals, am I missing the post? Tia!
  16. Broke terminal connectors on auxiliary switch install

Hi all! I have a JT but figured I’d ask the JL group since not many people have done the Aux switch install on JT yet. While snaking my wires through the grommet on the passenger side I damaged the wires on my harness (the orange one that plugs into the grey module/socket on the passenger side...
