Sounds like the exact same issue I had. Try switching the screws around and starting with that one first. I don’t exactly remember what I did.

I feel your pain. I remember how frustrating it was but once I finally got it to grab it did fine. I don’t know if it’s the coating that makes it so hard or what.

Hate your having the issues. I had this issue with one screw on the passenger side for the brackets. I was finally able to get it to bite and the. Screw on. It wasn’t easy but finally got it to grab. Not much help but I did have a similar issue.

yea I believe you need that piece of you don’t have the steel bumper group from the factory. Rival is good about sending stuff you if you are missing it.

So I want one. Just haven’t got one. You could easily mount in on under where the pod lights are and I think you would be just fine. That’s where I plan to mount mine.

The flush ones will mount up The flush lights will mount just fine. I already had the fog lights so I used them. I have looked at flush also.

so as far as the bolts not lining up. I did have a very minimal issue with alignment. I really think this was partially my error because I was rushing to get it on and I was doing it by myself. Ultimately I got all the bolts lined up and tightened down. If you get all the bolts started then...

@daveprice7 sorry I must have missed your comment. I like the rack. I haven’t used it much because shortly after install I switched to the soft top for the summer. The gutter mounts are super sturdy but wouldn’t push past the suggested Load.

Sorry for the late reply. The fog lights are rigid sae fog lights. I just wired them to turn on and act just like factory fogs.
