I think the harness changed between 2018 and 2020 as I had sun sensor factory installed and the cabin temp sensor connector was sitting behind the knee panel. Check out posts 732-750ish in this thread for how to build the harness pieces to support these sensors (it’s relatively cheap ~25 and easy)
This is exactly what I want to do - love my JL sport, bought in November, Less then 1500 miles on it and need to trade in for rubi recon. Where’s your dealer?
That’s it - next to center stack, right if steering wheel - post 754 has picture of where sensor is mounted from danny01 and 746 has picture of connector
The JL tazer has a menu option to support the change - forget what it is specifically, but is intuitive.
The cabin sensor was super easy, if your harness already supports it - look for it before you buy the sensor (~40$)
BFG KO2 285/75r17 on mostly stock JL sport - great thread here - Would like look of a wider stance, anyone add some wheel spacers that can comment on what will work without creating a rub?
read posts 734-756.
I fixed by adding in cabin temp sensor - was fortunate already had the sun sensor and harness to support installation of in cabin temp sensor in my base 20 JL
It is listed as a “multi switch - Mopar” there are a bunch of options given the variables it controls. (A/C, ATC, heated seats, heated mirrors, etc etc).
While I’ve seen a parts list somewhere you can search for “multi switch - Mopar” here (I’ve found bam to be the lowest cost with best...
This is great advice ^.
I understand that the factory spare (245/70) will be smaller height than my new KO2 (285/75) but since the odds of my needing to get out anything serious are slim I’m Comfortable saving the $$ on the 5th tire and the mods needed to support the larger spare.
After installing the cabin temp sensor and flashing the tazer I can confirm the automatic control stack works much better - not perfect. I’ve found setting the temp at 69° on a 32° day resulted in the auto function raising temp and fan speed, making the cabin too warm, then automatically cooling...
tomorrow when my in cabin temp sensor arrives, I’ll let you know if my 2020 JL Sport 7” uconnect upgrade with auto temp control is working properly. Check your harness for the c2 connector in hvac module - if you have a c2 with all 6 wires you likely have a temp sponsor connector (behind right...
@danny01 well I have a 20 JL sport - maybe they got smart and have only one harness now? In any case I think i only need to connect in cabin temp sensor the this connector as the sun sensor has all four wires that match the c2
@danny01 thanks for the direction.
this looks like it could be a straightforward mod to fully leverage any investment made in the central control stack to match the 7 or 8.4 uconnect
I found the attached pdf to make it more clear.
Though would anyone know where I can a manual with part...
poking around my JL harness it does not match the 17JK in the link above.
@danny01 - as i have automatic headlights (thus the sun sensor) i should only need the in-cabin temp sensor (unless sun sensor has 2 outputs and one needs to be routed to the temp control or a/c module?) in any case...
