Daaaaaang! I'm paying about $1.18 for a full charge. I think our rate is about $.07-08/kwh. Gas is a little over $4/gal so electric is quite a bit cheaper.
I can go 21 miles on $1.12 of electricity. I can go 21 miles on 1 gal of gas. I'm not Einstein, but I can figure out that gas has to be less than $1.12/gal to beat the electric cost. What am I missing here? Talk to me like I'm a ginger.
I have a chargepoint and like it. Just as a side note, you can buy it straight from the chargepoint website a lot cheaper than that Amazon seller's price.
I can drive a Jeep for my daily commute that is as fuel-cost efficient as a Prius...and not a Prius. Then, I can do regular Jeep stuff when wanted. No need for celebration, but it works damn well for me.
I'll try to be more specific than in my earlier post because, in hindsight, I think it may have taken longer than my original guess of 30-35 minutes of idling. Here's what worked for me:
I was in FORM and at home fully charged.
Got in, hit E-save, drove about 30 miles on ICE, temp was mostly...
Our 4xe does a weird 419 thing. When I take off in pure electric, off road pages show oil temp as 419. Once the engine kicks on, it will start reading real temps.
Idle it some more and let it go. I know mine took at least 35 minutes. It may have been longer. I kind of lost track of time as I sat in a parking lot waiting on some women to do women stuff.
Can you rev your engine while parked? I noticed that when I'm parked and idling, if I try to rev the engine, it only goes up to maybe 1100 rpms max. I just figured it's a 4xe thing.
