I was reading the email from icon. One thing they mentioned about the upper adjustable arms... they are used primarily for pinion angle adjustments. Is this the missing piece to getting 6 caster?
installed adjustable upper link, had the shop check alignment again, and no way it was getting 6 caster. ended at 4.5.
i had a feeling because when i installed the upper arm, it was the same length as my stock without any adjustment. only thing i can adjust on the upper will bring negative...
it was a very slight bow on my kit. nothing compared to what i've seen on the mopar posts. think it was mostly due to the lift hitting closer to 3.5" and i did not have adjustable track bars yet.
i got icon's adjustable upper link yesterday. will probably install it in the next 2 weeks and get...
the bowing is common on JL lift kits. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/mopar-lift-spring-bow.35160/
you will want to make sure you installed the coil isolator correctly and track bars center your axle. the stage 2 gave my jlur 3.5" lift before i put on bumpers so the track bar...
Shop told me this morning 4 is the best they can get with stage 3 (longer front lower). Looks like i'll need to get to stage 4 with the adjustables to get 5-6. 2 guys working there had lifted wranglers so they knew right away.
This forum is a great community so happy to contribute. I also wished there was more info on the icon kits for JL. I actually followed American Adventure Labs JL build and they did a video review - awesome content.
I was expecting a 2.5" lift as the stage 2 kit stated. I actually got 3.5" lift...
like sam said, stage 4 gives you everything you need.
this is my first lifted wrangler so i started at stage 2 to educate myself and knowing i'd prob upgrade later. i previously had icons on my tacoma and fjcruiser but quite different when you also run 37s.
stage 3 with track bars is...
I'm getting another alignment Thursday and asked the shop if they can get it to 6. I'll let you know how it goes after. Icon recommends 6 on their kits.
light wheeling at cleghorn, local trails, and pismo. i can not say whether this kit is better than the more popular for the jls but it has done great for me. ive had kings and icons on my tacoma and fj cruiser. kings have been my favorite but i also did not have 37s back then.
