  1. Grinding noise in 4WD on brand new Rubicon

Same for me. Tazer concerns me somewhat. Especially when I read posts like in this thread saying the front wheels aren't working when tazer set to disable ABS
  2. Jumperless Aux Battery Bypass

Thanks to OP for figuring this out and everyone who confirmed it worked for them. Really nice to not worry about the AUX battery causing me issues. I removed the fuse and disconnected the negative wire going to AUX battery. Been running without issues for a couple weeks so far, no error lights...
  3. Grinding noise in 4WD on brand new Rubicon

Thanks for sharing this! I will give it a go next time and see how it does.
  4. Grinding noise in 4WD on brand new Rubicon

Your summary looks good. The tazer 'fixes' it by completely disabling all of the electronic braking system traction related controls. Going into 4Lo disables some, but not all of the systems. You would think Jeep could release an updated software to either disable whatever 'feature' is causing...
  5. Grinding noise in 4WD on brand new Rubicon

Wow, I never got notifications of all the replies to my original thread here. I had completely given up on this issue. While I'm sad to see so many people with a similar issue, at least I don't feel alone/crazy any more with my Jeep's grinding problems. Thanks to those who disabled ABS/entire...
  6. Grinding noise in 4WD on brand new Rubicon

Its a programming decision by Jeep to disable the 4WD system when ABS isn't working. If you pull a sensor, the display lights up with errors and you cannot enable 4WD. The dash display tells you 4WD is disabled. It is not commonly posted on the internet, but I found some posts claiming that ABS...
  7. Grinding noise in 4WD on brand new Rubicon

Here is another post reply I made after a trip to the dealer. Pinging clock sound behind steering column in 4Low when turning | Page 3 | 2018+ Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) - Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Unlimited - JLwranglerforums.com Mine seems to be getting worse. If I turn off traction...
  8. Pinging clock sound behind steering column in 4Low when turning

Mine seems to be getting worse. If I turn off traction control when in 4Hi, the clicking noise occurrence is greatly reduced. I still get the awful ABS grinding noise, which seems like an exacerbation of the electronic braking system issues noted here. 4Lo is supposed to have most of that crap...
  9. Reminder: 5 quarts of oil to avoid oil overfill

Took my 2020 in and didn’t think to check afterwards. Next morning I have a puddle of oil in garage and dipstick was way (above an inch) above max. Back at dealer now, hope no permanent damage was done but it seems like at least a seal was blown. Update. Dealer claims it was just the oil drain...
  10. Cool Tech's CB Antenna Kit for JL Wrangler - Available Now

I pulled my side panels off. It wasn’t that big of a deal, although you do have to reattach clips in some cases. It may be possible to just shove the cable underneath the panels without pulling them off in some cases. The panel on the tail gate has to come off for sure and really the back trim...
  11. Cool Tech's CB Antenna Kit for JL Wrangler - Available Now

Installed the cool tech JL antenna mount kit today. Overall very happy customer. They even processed my order on Christmas Day and I had it by Saturday! Components all seem like high quality to me, the mount piece itself is much thicker and stronger than I thought from pictures. Running the...
  12. 2019 JLU Sahara depreciated 42% in 10 months

I can definitely confirm this. I had a 2016 JKU sport. Sticker 29k only one option, hard top. I paid around 27k. I owned it just under 4 years and had 55k miles on it. Vroom offered me 23.5k and carmax 22k. Friend of mine has a 2018 JLU sport with about $10k in options and in less than 2 years...
  13. Introducing Hothead Headliners for JL

Count me as one extremely satisfied customer. I got headliners for a 4dr w/side windows and sound assassin. First, I ordered late on Thursday night and I got a shipping notice/tracking number early the next day. Crazy fast! The product is packaged very well and easily to figure out where...
  14. Introducing Hothead Headliners for JL

thanks for the reply on this. I found some videos on hotheads for their previous product to sound assassin and it was not showing sanding either. I went ahead and ordered a full set of everything. Seems like it provides a lot of potential value (less noise, insulation, better stereo sound)...
  15. Introducing Hothead Headliners for JL

Could some tell me what is the prep for sound assassin strips? Do you have to sandpaper first for them as well or just acetone or ? seriously considering these, but the sandpaper dust mess has me a little concerned.
  16. Hard top wind noise

I also adjusted my driver side panel. I noticed that I was further back than the passenger one. I loosened the 2 bolts under the round felt pads in front of the panel and pushed everything forward towards the windshield. I still have some wind noise but it does seem to be reduced. Or I’m getting...
  17. Pinging clock sound behind steering column in 4Low when turning

How much do you hear the ticking noise? When I am going up a steep/loose hill in 4Lo, It sounds just slightly less rapid than firecrackers in frequency and the anti-lock brake grinding noise accompanies it. I still haven't been able to get into the dealer to have it addressed. It also makes the...
  18. Automatic headlights and navigation screen too dark to see at dusk?

I have the same problem, but turning the right dimmer dial all the way up until it clicks restores the brightness for me.
  19. Drivers with automatic trans and 3.6L V6, any regrets on not getting the 2.0L Turbo?

No regrets with my 3.6 at the gas station, filling up on the cheapest gas without worrying about it affecting my engine adversely. Although given the cheaper price of 2.0 and mpg difference, I don't think gas price being lower is going to save me any money net. Jeep seems to be really pushing...
