  1. Rattling upon acceleration

I'm using 93 octane and still hear the knock from time to time. Not nearly as bad as with 87, but it's still there. Can also sometimes feel lug at the speeds and RPM already noted in this thread. Looks like I'll be switching to the 4xe when it comes out...
  2. Rattling upon acceleration

@JeepCares - where there’s smoke, there’s fire. also, where there’s clearly an engine defect with the factory design, there’s typically a class action lawsuit.
  3. Rattling upon acceleration

Yes, please keep us updated! The trans makes sense since it won't make this rattle or pinging with the trans disengaged.
  4. Rattling upon acceleration

Just wanted to drop a quick note that I recently filled up the tank with BP Ultimate 93 and was driving around yesterday in very hot and humid conditions with engine warmed up and I heard this knocking louder than ever. Normally the higher octane gas kept this noise from happening but definitely...
  5. Rattling upon acceleration

Hmmm so never drop the RPM below 2000 when shifting? I don't exactly view that as a solution. Any advice for the 8-speeds that also have this rattle?
  6. Rattling upon acceleration

My dealer kept it for a week and at the end said this exact same thing. Could not replicate the noise. I mean couldn't someone just perform a search of all their service calls to see what comes up for customers reporting "engine noise" or "knocking"? I'm sure that would return a whole ton of...
  7. Rattling upon acceleration

I am also about halfway through a tank of 93 octane and the knocking noise is almost non-existent anymore whereas with 87 it was alarmingly loud. The engine also feels much smoother and even feels a bit peppier when accelerating. Guess I'll be spending more on gas...
  8. Rattling upon acceleration

This is incredible. My JLUS makes this same exact knocking noise under the same conditions. it also has the clicking suspension. Took it to the dealer and they kept it for a week and said they couldn’t reproduce and that the vehicle was operating normally. Not too worried about getting it fixed...
  9. Have your local dealers tapped out?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the invoice price what the dealer actually paid the manufacturer for the car? I don't understand how anyone would expect a dealer to accept losing 8% of their investment into a vehicle. If you can get a car at or slightly above invoice, aren't you already...
