They replaced the camshaft/rockers/lifters, which fixed my ticking. FCA finally agreed to look at the oil pan weeks later and didnāt find anything abnormal. Iāve driven it about 1500 miles since the repair and it seems to be okay. Iām still super paranoid that this thing is going to start...
Sort of. I went without a rental all last week when they had it for the camshaft because they said itās not something āthe dealer or FCA providesā. Coincidentally, I got an email from Jeep Wave yesterday morning mentioning the free oil changes and same day rental it provides for the first two...
Yeah, itās been quite a week. I have a case in with FCA to see if theyāll open the oil pan to find the potential glitter bomb hopefully they approve it and dig a little deeper to see if there are any more issues lurking. Found out they damaged a radiator hose when they were fixing the cams, so...
Wow, this just keeps getting better. I got my Jeep back yesterday after they swapped out the rusty camshafts. Today I noticed that itās leaking coolant. My guess is the dealer didnāt put something back together right after they reconnected all the coolant lines from the cam swap. Man, what a...
This is 100% true unfortunately. I just got off the phone with the dealer and they said that since they didnāt find evidence of metal particles at the camshaft assembly, then the dealer would not approve taking the oil pan off and inspecting it further. They told me it would cost me about $210...
Since they installed it backwards the first time, I doubt the did any purge techniques. I may try to disconnect it and see how it is. Thatās a good point.
I'm no tech, but I think they had to disconnect the radiator when doing the repair, so they had to flush and refill. Would have been nice after all that work though if they could have just dropped the oil real quick.
Heres the work order. They said they didn't see any metal contamination in the oil when the had that covers off... but who knows what's in the filter/pan. Hopefully this helps some of you still troubleshooting your knocking issues.
Mine started to do this right after the Steering stabilizer recall. They actually mounted it backwards initially, and then I went back to have them replace it and install properly, the Jeep still pulled to the right though. I just paid $99 to get it aligned today and it still drifts to the...
My 2018 JL Sport S has been knocking/ticking for a few months. Dealer "A" said it was a normal break-in noise, didn't throw codes, it's totally fine. Finally took it to Dealer "B" to get a second opinion and they heard the issue immediately. After they cracked the engine open they found RUST on...
I finally had a chance to use hill decent and it sounds like itās intermittently groaning all the way. I guess this is normal? I kept wanting to turn it off because I thought something was wrong. That being said, it works great other than the noise.
Noob question here, I didnāt see this explained in the thread. When you are saying āunmarryā, is there an unmarry option within the flashcal? Or are you simply just saying that youāre āunpluggingā the flashcal?
So the dealer installed the Steering Stabilizer Recall upside down. I was hoping this was the cause of the Jeep pulling right, but even after they replaced the stabilizer and installed it correctly, my Jeep is still pulling to the right... which all seemed to start right after they messed with...
I just had the steering damper recall done on my ā18 JLUS and it seems like itās drifting to the right now. I also just put 33ās on it around the same time so I donāt know if thatās part of the issue? Itās always had some play but drove easier with stock tires. I think the bigger heavier tires...
