  1. California Trade: Brand new black Willys grille for white

Have a brand new (purchased 7/24) black Willys JL grille, 2021 model. Looking to trade for similar condition bright white grille. Must have white or black trim around the headlights (no gray). Figure it’s a long shot but worth a try before I buy a new one. Orange County.
  2. Rotopax dented my door

I would just put a piece of black foam or some kind or rubber over the mark to cover it and act as a buffer. And put the gas can back on. The aluminum is probably fine left as is.
  3. Sky one touch rattling..driving me nuts!

It seems like different things can cause squeaks. I tried that tape mentioned above and it still squeaked. I wound up taking the panels out and driving it. No squeaks. I sprayed some lubricant on the pins themselves and let it leak down into the hinge. Then I pushed each pin in and out a...
  4. Long Term Oil issues

I would be reluctant to dump a quart out of a vehicle which has an unknown history based on a hunch and internet rumors of a six quart oil change. Better to do a complete oil change, and do it yourself. If you are wrong you will be a quart or more low.
  5. Metalcloak, Synergy, Teraflex for track bars & LCA's to improve steering?

I’ll say what I said in the other steering thread. I have a 20 JLUR with the Falken MT tires. Also an August 2019 build. It is stock. The steering has no dead spot. But it does wander. I added a SteerSmart track bar and adjusted the steering wheel to make the wheel a little more centered when...
  6. 2020 JLUR steering issue

I actually did check my caster angle, both with my iPhone and with one of those yellow plastic angle finders. Both gave me readings of about 6 degrees. I have never checked it on a proper alignment rack.
  7. 2020 JLUR steering issue

Yes, the SteerSmart Yeti. The first time I drove it with the Yeti I knew this Jeep was a keeper.
  8. 2020 JLUR steering issue

Don't be scared to order one. My 20 has no "dead spot." The steering is fine. The Jeep just drifts all over the place. It is a solid axle with mud tires. It won't track like a BMW. With the new track bar it is much better. And probably could be improved upon with an aftermarket...
  9. 2020 JLUR steering issue

My 2020 JLUR seemed to wander and drift around when I got it, way more than my old JK. SUprised I did not get pulled over by a cop who thought I might be drunk. Anyhow, I put a Yeti track bar on it. Then I centered the steering wheel a bit more precisely than it came from the factory. With...
  10. Will this hold the JLUR doors?

Could use three hooks per front door. See how it feels.
  11. Only California Dealer worth working with!

I had a very pleasant experience at Hunter Dodge in Lancaster.
  12. Which type of wax?

Colinite 845. And lately I have been using a clay sponge while I am washing it. Wash, rinse, clay sponge, wash again and rinse. Using the soap from the carwash bucket makes the claying go so much quicker. And you rewash as you go along.
  13. Any reports of issues with steering in the 2019s?

There is another thread on this forum which I would link to if I knew how. It got me thinking. I had a 2010 JKU with about a two inch lift. Its steering, while not as bad as the JLs is was very busy. The fix for it, on a lifted jeep is changing the lower control arms to adjustable ones so...
  14. Mopar LCA swap

This is by far the most interesting thread on the JL steering problems. My 2020 JLUR came with 68250242AB lower arms. I just ordered a set of the 68322798AA arms from Allmoparparts. Curious to measure the old ones to the new ones and see what is actually on the truck stock. Caster angle...
  15. New Jeep Veers right

2020 JLUR here. Mine also goes right. Not really a pull, just a drift. Might try a Steer Smart track bar at some point. Not sure if I want to go back to the dealer. Does not seem as if they actually fix anything. Probably better off fixing it myself. My 2010 JKU did not drive like this...
  16. Hard-top Touchup Paint

On my JK, which had a black top that kind of had a satin finish I would spray satin Rustoleum on a Q-tip and dab it on the scratch. It worked pretty well for the small touch ups here and there. Once it dries you can’t see the scratches and forget where they were.
  17. Did I make a mistake getting a JLU instead of a JLUR?

Well, having owned a Sport since 2010, I am pretty stoked to finally have what I wanted during that almost decade, a Rubicon. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing the Sport and building it up a little to make it how you want. That is what I did too.
  18. Did I make a mistake getting a JLU instead of a JLUR?

When you tell someone you have a Jeep, the first question is always "Is it a Rubicon?" I used to have a JK Sport. Nice truck, not a bad thing to say about it. Very capable off-road for what I did with it. But when you say "No its not a Rubicon, it is a Sport" the reply is "Oh." So this go...
  19. Soft Surf Racks 2019 Rubicon w/ sky top

That windshield light bar rack, coupled with a single soft rack behind it might work. And would be safer than two soft racks since the front rack would hold the board securely.
  20. Soft Surf Racks 2019 Rubicon w/ sky top

In the same boat as the OP. Might just have to put the boards inside. Dropping 2K on a Gobi rack that is 8 inches tall to clear the powertop does not seem like a good option. Never been a fan of soft racks. Interested to hear some suggestions.
