  1. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Little update and possibly the end... (a surprising twist). As I was washing the Jeep last weekend, a piece of the cowl below the windshield made a creaking noise. While the Jeep was wet, I started pushing on it (red circle in picture) and noticed that the 2 screws (arrows in the picture)...
  2. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Well guys, I'm still waiting on that shock, it's been 2 months now, and i'm told, again, that it will be at least another few more weeks. This is completely unacceptable. Edit: After telling FCA this was unacceptable, they came back and found an alternative part number that can be available in...
  3. Check Engine P0441

Mine has not come back yet and it's been a while so it may have been a hiccup.
  4. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

So little update. Took the Jeep back to the dealer this morning, and had a tech/mechanic come with me. I was able to replicate the noise and he heard it well. 3-4 hours later, they call to tell me they determined it's the Left front shock, but it's back-ordered so it'll be a while... I guess...
  5. JL Window Sticker and Build Sheet Order Tracking

Hey this is funny, about 1h later, the link works... I guess Crypto's database knew it was coming, but the build sheet just hadn't been updated yet...
  6. JL Window Sticker and Build Sheet Order Tracking

They don't... But you had me doubting so I tried it again, both the Sticker and build sheet come up with an error even though they both say "found". But we're in Canada, they seem to be having problems with our orders the last few months.
  7. JL Window Sticker and Build Sheet Order Tracking

So i just received an email from Cryptosticker saying my VIN had updates. Quickly jump on crypto to see what's new... NOTHING... Both the Sticker and Build sheet say "found" but when you click, they both say "nothing to display". But this has been the case for 2 months now. So Crypto seems to...
  8. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

@Roky So I checked under a few minutes ago and it seems the dealer while they were changing the links actually did grease those bushings, I can see fresh grease oozing out. I also tightened the lower castle nut on the driver side as it was barely more than finger tight. I did have to go a bit...
  9. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Yeah I still hear that, and I wonder if that may be what I hear in the cab as a knock/clunk. Sounds can be different depending on what they travel through.
  10. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

No, it's more of a clunk.
  11. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Bit of an update... Finally got the links changed, took long because dealership is running on limited staff because of covid. Well, didn't, change, a dam, thing.... It's the second time they do that to me, act like they are 110% sure they know and then they miss the mark entirely... I think...
  12. Canadian 2021 JLUR Order & Price

It's insane. There doesn't seem to be any logic to these delays. Last year my order took 7, maybe 8 weeks tops. My mother ordered Nov 3rd and within a week she had VON and VIN. Since then, nothing, dealer says it in D status, not built. I initially assumed back-ordered parts, but I see some...
  13. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Quick update, took it to the dealer today. They called me about 2 hours later and said they ordered the front sway bar link kits. Seems the noise is coming from them. Odd that they didn't feel loose when I was under looking for the noise, but they likely know how to check that better than I...
  14. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Another interesting thing, the rear left shock does it too. No wonder i couldn't locate it precisely. It's like the piston sticks a bit so when it finally travels it "sticks" a bit. Also, the gas tank is almost empty. I wonder if that relieves enough weight for the jeep to sit ever so...
  15. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Spent some more time underneath it this morning. I'm 80% certain it's the front left shock. When I push down on the left front corner of the bumper , only by about 1/4 inch, I can hear it creak/moan... If i give a bigger/faster push, I don't hear a thing. So small/slow movements of the shock...
  16. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

When I push down on the bumper, I can hear the shock do a little "fwoump" sound.. hard to write. Sounds like a vibration but I know it's piston/seals doing their thing. Pretty sure that's not it. All the ball joints appear tight. What if I was to hang a weight on the drag link? Not under it...
  17. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Checked everything, it's all tight as can be. But, the drag link also has the same rotation as the tie-rod bar. The big difference is that it sounds a little hollow making it's end of rotation "thud" a bit more pronounced. Could it be that one simply doing it's thing? I have a good ear (it...
  18. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

i'll have a look at it tomorrow, with the mileage it has, i would assume loose is more likely and not worn. Thanks, i'll report back!
  19. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Finally went around and tightened/checked everything i could see. Only exception is lower control arm as i didn't have a 24mm wrench (socket won't fit) so i'll be doing those tomorrow. I'm stumped... Still hear that low level thump/knock at low speeds. As I mentioned in my previous post...
  20. OEM Rubicon front end noise. (knock, creak?)

Decided to go back and try this today. So I was able to give that upper shock bolt about half a turn (with a 3 foot bar). Quick drive around the block and i can still hear it. Maybe a tad less but it's snowing heavily so it may mess with sounds and road noise). The only other thing I was...
