except it often IS a big deal to repair.
As long as OP gets a body shop to remove the old sealant and replace with new, it’ll be fine. The shop that fixed mine did that but others just paint over it and it just cracks again.
It’s a problem with the sealant in the joint. If they aren’t taking a die grinder and removing all of the old crap and replacing it, then it’ll just keep happening.
Math checks out. Assuming that every one of those 50k gets sick and requires hospitalization on the same day; which is realistic in my scientific opinion.
Man that’s terrible! I just got mine back yesterday. I was afraid the fix would be just cosmetic, but I guess only time will tell for me.
edit: also, I had to go through Jeep Cares to get the dealer to fix it. So, to the people that trash them, don’t! It works
Yessir, that’s about what mine looks like too. You need to try a different dealership. I haven’t gotten mine fixed but I’ve at least been able to get them to acknowledge the crack.
If you peek around under there with a flashlight, you’ll see that the inside rail (closest to the console) is sitting on the floor of the vehicle. Jeep definitely didn’t do any favors for tall people with the JL. I’m only 6 foot and the tops of the gauges are clipped from my view with the seat...
Not without a fight. Took mine in in December; said they took pics and sent to Jeep for approval, and now late January I’ve still heard nothing, despite following up every week.
Had it at the dealer today for this issue. They called and said they “couldn’t recreate” and replaced the steering dampener and claim that will have fixed it. Anyone know a good dealer in Denver area? AutoNation Southwest is a fucking joke.
As an update to anyone else with this issue, it wasn’t the window at all. The noise comes from the weatherstrip rubbing on the freedom panel. I put some sil-glyde on it and it went away. Wondering if there’s a more permanent solution.
I don’t know the exact 4 lo noise you’re describing, can you post a video? But I’ve had a lot of vehicles with low range t-cases and they have all been a bit noisy.
Do you have a stick? Because they also all make a noise right at stall. Sounds kind of like rocks in a coffee mug.
Bumping this thread because my 2019 JLUR does this exact thing. It’s low speed and high speed, less than 40 degrees and is intermittent. Goes away, I think, after driving a few miles. I thought it was related to the heated steering wheel being on but that is probably just because it was cold...
No one else has this problem?
I’m almost to the point of selling this thing with all the squeaks and rattles. I can’t believe I spent $50,000 on something with such poor fit and finish.
