Hey friends to the north (and east I guess)!
I’m planning a trip to your beautiful part of the country soon and I’m wondering what tips you might have for offroad / overland spots, scenic areas, fellow Jeepers or clubs, etc. Planning a bit for Cape Breton, maybe PEI, maybe catch the ferry to...
Looks dodgy if you ask me. Just a guy who drew out the roads without any knowledge of if those roads are legal to travel on or what kind of terrain you’ll encounter.
Best way to explore the Class VI roads IMO is to join a club and go on a ride. Check out Granite State Offroad, great people and...
I just installed the Kraken system today with the compressor under the passenger seat. I think it will be a definite improvement having it out of the elements.
Also, with air lockers, wouldn’t the compressor just run for a couple seconds to pressurize the manifold?
Never pay more than what you’re willing to pay to get what you want. It’s that simple. Everyone’s situation is different. Some people don’t mind the inconvenience of ordering exactly what they want, then waiting for it. Others are happy to buy at whatever price to support their local dealer.
If...
I have the Gazelle T4 Overland edition. It has been a great tent so far, but I’ve always carried it inside the Jeep. This year I’m carrying it on a roof rack, so we will see how that turns out. :fingerscrossed:
I’m thinking about heading up that way in the next couple weeks. Hope there are camping spots available. Finding camping spots in NH is still tough, very crowded this year.
After a quick read on the aux switches, it seems best to just connect the red wire of the BC1 to the aux switch lead and set the switch in uconnect to latching and battery.
Would be great if you/someone could confirm that works...
I don’t have the aux switches yet, but I was thinking the exact same thing. It makes sense to me since the BC1 controller doesn’t retain your settings anyway.
Question is would you run the ground through the aux switch or the hot? I’m not sure how the switches work.
So I did a thing this past weekend, based on all of your inputs in this thread, I installed the ARB bumper on my Sport S. Thanks for all the great tips!
My experience was similar to others. The thing is a behemoth to get mounted so I was glad I had some help. I don’t have a winch yet, so there...
I’m still pretty new to the Jeep scene, but I realized that there are plenty of other distributors who have much more recent videos and support, like Quadratec, Northridge, CJ Off Road, etc... Extreme Terrain seems to be a bit behind the times now. Maybe they were better years ago? But seems...
Awesome write-up, thank you! I will be tackling this project in the next week or so (I’ve got the BC1 controller as well). Looking forward to your update.
Just saw this thread a bit late, so sorry to dig it up... just be aware that @AlienSunshade went out of business end of 2019. Amazon will likely sell until their inventory is out.
About a month ago I was about to pull the trigger on a new ARB bumper from those guys but at the last minute I saw the online reviews and horror stories. I went to Quadratec and they price matched and I got my bumper within a week without stress. I don’t think I’ll be doing business with 4wd...
