I've tried to get my paint issues resolved for nearly two years now through multiple dealerships and they just end up ghosting me. I finally followed up with @JeepCares through their phone support and was told I would get a call back within two days. Unfortunately, that was about two weeks ago.
The speakers actually have different resistance and use amp-based crossovers. The 3.5" dash speakers are 4ohm mid-high, while the knee panel speakers are 2ohm woofers. Same for the soundbar speakers - 3.5" 4ohm/4" 2ohm.
Right. It's hard to imagine that being true, and I don't actually believe them, but it's also hard to imagine how lazy/incompetent you would have to be to reuse old bolts when new ones are supplied.
Light, not tight.
Thought I saw a few people on here mention lightness, but either way I knew the overwhelming majority of folks said nothing or specifically noted it was same as before and that told me I was an outlier. The feel of mine is probably 50% effort compared to before. Maybe less at...
Dropped off again this morning for them to address the bolts and software. The bolts were on the service order and plainly not installed, so hopefully they won't be difficult about it. Drove on the freeway this morning and I can say that the overly-light steering could actually pose a safety...
I'll have mine replaced since I need the software verified (cough*actuallydone*cough), but i'm not sure I would otherwise. Sitting at the dealership for 2 hours for something I could do myself for $5 and 10 minutes hardly seems worth it.
Dealership also apparently reinstalled the old bolts on mine. Combined with the likely failure to update the software. Man, i'm so tired of laziness and incompetence from these people.
I'd like to hear about everyone's light vs. heavy (or no-change) impressions after getting the repair. Surely it must be software related, but trying to figure out if it's from having or not having SW done correctly.
Just got my back after getting the new cast iron box installed and I can confirm that it's a slightly mixed bag.
First and foremost, the repair absolutely takes care of the wandering and deadspot. The steering is MUCH more precise with very little play. It is akin to any vehicle I currently or...
If nothing else, it removes any grey area that allows dealers to vaguely deny the repair because of "modifications". They will at least have to show that it's out of spec.
Unbelievable!!! Makes me wonder if they were trying the ol' bait and switch. Make you think they 'fixed' it and make an extra $900 down the line somewhere...
Absolutely agree. It's a disappointing design. Just pointing out that it's something that can be addressed if Stealerships try to use it as a reason to deny the TSB repair.
