You'll probably be fine if your headlights get more than 5 hours without failure. In my anecdotal experience, 100% of the first version had MTBF of less than 5 hours with the heating elements on. For the second version with external temperature probe, the rate went down to 33% (1 out of 3...

During the week-long temperature plunge back in December, the heating element on the driver side of the newer variant (with the external temp. sensor) burned out like all the older variant. The passenger side remained operational throughout. I called Oracle and got the defective driver side unit...

I just stuck mine on top of the flat part of the plastic housing. The package didn't come with instructions on where to put them on.

Counterclockwise to lower. You need to get the wiring harness out of the way to fit your hand in there. It should unclip from where it is.

I got the replacement units today and noticed that there is something new on both headlights that I haven't seen with the first iteration. I didn't know what these were at first, but they are external temperature sensors that work with internal sensors.

Any update on how the replacement process will work? One of the units developed two burn marks. The other one appears to have none.
  7. Clicking noise from failing rear brake hardware?

Okay, so the repair was covered under warranty. The part that was replaced is 68159523AC. Just what could possibly worth $90 in replacement parts? See below. Brake pad springs. $90 for some springs that are available online for anywhere between $50 to $70. Oh, not for both sides, mind you...
  8. Clicking noise from failing rear brake hardware?

I got a call from corporate today saying they talked to the dealership and the parts are indeed covered under warranty. I'll post the paperwork when the parts are replaced. I'm really curious about how "brake hardware" are capable of making rotational clicking.
  9. Clicking noise from failing rear brake hardware?

Oh, I mentioned that to let the Mopar CSR know, so it should be documented. They told me to expect a call back from the case manager within a day, so we'll see how that goes.
  10. Clicking noise from failing rear brake hardware?

Thanks. They were trying to tell me MaxCare won't cover the hardware and quoted me for over $450. Thankfully I checked the contract and found out the only the actual consumables aren't covered. Still had to fork over $80 for the "diagnostic" fee. I should be able to get that reimbursed or...
  11. Clicking noise from failing rear brake hardware?

The parts were quoted for $90. The rest, I'm assuming, is for labor and diag. They didn't mention the caliper at all. No clue. They told me something along the lines of parts like springs that loosen the components. I thought it was my rear axle (M220 with LSD) going bad again, because at...
  12. Clicking noise from failing rear brake hardware?

2018 JLU Sahara on 315/70R17 with 36600 miles. It's a daily driver that hardly sees trails. There is clicking noise from passenger side when the vehicle is in motion. I only found out about it because I had my windows rolled down since it was warm outside yesterday. Upon taking it to the...

Any update on what is causing the issue and solutions for fix so far?
  14. Forum Exclusive Groupbuy from ORACLE Lighting: Heated Oculus

I already emailed all the pertinent info and was told there will be a replacement reserved for me once the issue has been resolved. Thanks, though. I do wonder what could be causing the issue, though. Bad heating element or over-voltage?
  15. Forum Exclusive Groupbuy from ORACLE Lighting: Heated Oculus

One of the replacement units started developing burn mark on the heating element after about 2 hours of runtime. The passenger side is affected, but the driver side is fine for now.

    Pre-ordered mine on 11/13. Shipped 12/20.
  17. Forum Exclusive Groupbuy from ORACLE Lighting: Heated Oculus

Just got the replacements installed and have about 30 minutes of runtime on them with the defrosters on, and haven't noticed any defects yet. I'll keep an eye out and see if anything goes wrong. Cross your fingers.

One of the guys over at JT forum also reported the heating element failure, as well. I'd say, go ahead and install it. It's not yet known if the heating element issue affects a select few or is a widespread problem. The sooner you find out if your units are affected, the faster you'll be able...
  19. Forum Exclusive Groupbuy from ORACLE Lighting: Heated Oculus

I can understand if only one of the units failed, but both failing at the same time with less than 3 hours of usage probably points to manufacturing and/or QC issue, especially considering the problem hasn't been reported with test units that were sent to people for field testing. What I'm...
  20. Forum Exclusive Groupbuy from ORACLE Lighting: Heated Oculus

Found something that will potentially be a huge concern. There are spots on heating elements on both headlights that are being burned off with not even a couple of hours of use. One of them (the passenger side unit) is burning hot to the point where the lens is being warped. Photos are...
