  1. 23. Vs 24 my

I went through the same dilemma and ended up getting the 24 model since I was able to get it from an out of state dealer for 81k out the door as a factory order. I will say it definitely feels more 'plush' compared to my 2020 JLU Rubicon 3.6 with regards to the new screen, seats, and noise...
  2. Off Road Expo

Hoping to make it on Sunday. I went last year and it was a lot of fun and I got a great deal on a power tank.
  3. 7% Below Invoice on 2024 Jeep Wrangler Orders (including 392 and 4xe!)

I placed my order for a '24 392 at the beginning of May and it arrrived last week at Grangers. So I guess it just varies.
  4. Can we talk about the 2024 392 red seats?

I just ordered a black 24 392 and I am a bit worried of how the red seats might look. I started looking at options and I found out that Katzkin apparently works with Mopar which might allow one to get an OEM look.
  5. Tesla Crate Engine… for a Jeep?

This was a cool video about a Land Rover Defender getting the tesla motor kit:
  6. Anyone done a Hemi 6.4/392 Swap in California and passed the referee inspection?

It sounds from the lack of success stories, that getting a 392 engine swap with a BAR referee label is not doable in California. I read the BAR's guide (https://bar.ca.gov/pdf/smog-check-reference-guide.pdf: APPENDIX D: STATE OF CALIFORNIA – ENGINE CHANGE GUIDELINES) which talks about engine...
  7. Shop for lift/wheels near eastside LA, Pasadena, NoHo etc?

I recommend Offroad Customz in Glendale and Rock-Tech in La Habra. I've used both shops for different things, but I would say my primary shop now for doing modifications/repairs will be Offroad Customz. They did my gears and installed my aftermarket rear drive shaft and just yesterday they fixed...
  8. Anyone done a Hemi 6.4/392 Swap in California and passed the referee inspection?

I am curious if anyone here has done a Hemi 6.4L/392 swap to their Jeep JL here in California and passed the initial smog check at a referee center and gotten a BAR referee label added to your jeep's engine compartment?
  9. Recommendation for a place around Pasadena to fill CO2 tanks

I am considering buying a 15 lb Power Tank, but want to make sure there are some good places around Pasadena that can fill up the tank before I buy it. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have found some in South Orange Country, but that seems a bit far to drive.
  10. Gear whine on coasting after regear to 4.88s. Shop is claiming its a "driver comfort issue" and that it's normal. This can't be normal.

I was on the fence between 4.88 and 5.13 which apparently is a common dilemma on this forum, but I decided to go with 5.13. I am scheduled to get them done at the end of this month. What did you get and are you happy with how it feels?
  11. Gear whine on coasting after regear to 4.88s. Shop is claiming its a "driver comfort issue" and that it's normal. This can't be normal.

@jessedacri, I went to Offroad Customz today and spoke with Vee. I really liked the shop and the service I got today so I went ahead and booked an appointment to do my gears. Thanks for your input!! By the way, he remembers you :)
  12. Gear whine on coasting after regear to 4.88s. Shop is claiming its a "driver comfort issue" and that it's normal. This can't be normal.

Did you resolve your regearing issue and if you did, would you recommend the shop you took it to? I also live in Los Angles and I am looking at a few places for my regearing. Currently, I am looking at these 6 shops: Offroad Customz (Glendale) Crunch Offroad (Temple City) Saint Offroad...
  13. Recommendation on a shop for re-gearing in Socal?

I am looking at these Southern California shops to regear my JLUR since I live in the San Gabriel area. Anyone have an experience with any of these shops. Offroad Customz (Glendale) Crunch Offroad (Temple City) Saint Offroad (Glendora) RockTech Offroad (La Habra). Premier West Gears...
  14. Right Drift after Steering TSB

@californiajeeping, do live in Los Angeles? If yes, could you provide the name of the dealer that you would recommend to do the steering gear upgrade?
  15. Installed Rhino Rack Backbone Pioneer platform -- Wobbly Rubicon.

I actually have a stock Rubicon JL Unlimited with the backbone + pioneer platform and I really don't notice a difference in handling. In fact, just a few days ago I had to remove the pioneer rack since I realized I had a slight leak that I had to fix. After I took it off, I went for a drive and...
  16. Method 701 17x8.5 vs 17x9. Which one?

So I am totally clueless on wheel selection so hoping to get some advice. I currently own a Jeep JL Rubicon Unlimited and I am planning on adding a Metalcloak 3.5 Gamechanger Kit, Nitto Trail Grappler or BFG KM3 37x12.5x17 tires, and 701 Method 17" wheels. My problem is that 701 wheels come...
  17. 3 Offroad shops have stirred me away from Metalcloak to Teraflex suspension due to much better warranty service

I appreciate everybody's response! Although I am sure there will always be some unhappy customers, overall the message is clear in this forum and that is Metalcloak has great products and they stand behind their product when it comes to customer service. Although I do believe Teraflex must...
  18. 3 Offroad shops have stirred me away from Metalcloak to Teraflex suspension due to much better warranty service

I just bought a brand new 2020 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited and looking at adding 37" tires and a 3.5" suspension system. My initial inclination was towards the Metalcloak gamechanger 3.5 kit and so I reached out to 3 offroad shops here in Southern California, 2 of them authorized Metalcloak...
  19. Legitimate question to diesel owners....

So no one here who owns a diesel and goes offroading (water crossings, slow driving for several hours, etc) disagrees/agrees with the response from the diesel tuner I posted?
  20. Legitimate question to diesel owners....

So I test drove yesterday the manual, the 3.6 automatic, and the diesel all back to back. I would say the diesel was my favorite, but not because of the torque, but because it felt more like a truck. It felt heavier, more sure-footed, and I enjoyed the sound of the engine. I would say that it...
