I guess it shows that I didn’t read or bother looking at the pictures haha. Didn’t realize the battery was mounted that high up. One less fear lol.
I wonder how long that battery will last. Weather, weight, and off-roading (hits near battery and water fording) might kill it faster than most plug in hybrids. I’m worried about constant charging and the above degrading it faster than normal and then having to pay thousands of dollars to...
I’ve driven the pentastar in different FCA vehicles and I have a 2.3L eco boost mustang. NA is going to be more reliable because it has less parts and heat compared to a FI engine. That being said, modern day turbos are way more reliable than what they used to make.
If you want an NA motor, buy...
What I want to see is this
Jeep adding more value to the wrangler by making more options standard and keeping pricing competitive with the Bronco. Jeep replacing the pentastar with the upcoming 3.0L inline 6 that's going in the Wagoneer. Ford releasing a raptor version of the Bronco and Jeep...
The new Bronco is kind of nice.
Fords 2.7 puts out 310hp and 400lb ft of torque. Jeep needs to beat that with their new engine.
There are more things I wish Jeep would do, but I don’t see them making big changes other than the replacing the pentastar as a mid cycle refresh.
Seems like it would also be cheaper to just do a motor swap and sell the old engine than it would be to get the prodigy kit, blow the motor, and then be forced to buy a whole new engine.
When you do a cold start, the engines run richer because cold gas is harder to vaporize and cold gas can condense. So what pretty much every single car does, is they run a super rich air fuel mixture to prevent any issues during a cold start. It's so rich that sometimes all of the fuel doesn't...
The 2.0 is a cool engine, but I wouldn't buy it. The fuel economy isn't much better than the V6, the power is pretty similar, and it was a $1,000 premium last time I checked. I love my 2.3L ecoboost but thats in a 3600lb car, I feel like the weaker 2.0L with extra complexity of the BSG in a way...
Thanks for the specs, I wonder how heavy a modded gladiator will get.
I think you have the names in wrong spot though, should be gladiator then Wrangler.
Yeah I guess adding 200lbs (minimum) that high up would really mess with the center of gravity. I guess the only options are running with a normal tent, cots/hammocks if you want to be elevated, or a trailer if you can bite the bullet on that price tag.
For those with rooftop tents, how much do they affect the JL when you’re wheeling?
I’d like a rooftop tent on my JL but would rather keep it as capable as possible for crawling.
Are separate trailers worth it? I feel like they would let me keep the JL as a rock crawler but still tow the...
