I recently posted about this setup in another thread so apologies for pimping this kit again so quickly. I have had the Rustyās HD steering kit for right at two years now without issues.
Rustyās vs stock.
Soda can for reference.
On the rig.
Set of 5 Black Rhino Mozambique Wheels and tires with TPMS.
20 x 8.5 | 5x5 30ET with Goodyear Wrangler Ulta Terrain ATās in 275/55R20 with 90% tread. Were driven on the Grand Cherokee but will fit the JL. TPMS sensors were picked up by both vehicles. 5th rim and tire are unused.
Fitment is for...
Great job on notching the top clamshell. Youād never know it wasnāt like that from the manufacturer. I have the same winch/bumper combo and have just accepted the gap on mineā¦ perhaps I should try grinding on mine a bit.
Genuinely interestedā¦ But how does the PCM unlock/reflash work with this given it is āusedā? Can you confirm it still allows for a reflash as-is?
It is acceptable for sure, but like I mentioned above, if you are looking for perfection, you may take issue with this particular combo. It doesnāt bother me at all - and like you said, side-by-side is where you really notice.
As for which piece is the flex point, it is definitely the top...
Pinched wiring is one issue, but reasonably easy to mitigate, and I think it existed with a number of winches regardless of the bumper.
My main struggle was the bumper is modular and acts as a clamshell around the winch. The physical dimensions of the winch do not allow the bumper to fit...
Am I missing something? I see it listed as plug an play, but it looks like it is a t-tap type connection for power and separate wire to the ground post. Maybe I am mistaken.
Looks like IRO offers a similar setup. I had their stuff on my XJ and they make quality items. Normally Iām not a fan the excessive light pods and light bars people load their vehicles up with, but I can get behind these. Purpose built, and not obnoxious.
Excellent price point too...
