Artec lower frame brackets and I cut out the crossmember tie in and welded it up myself for the third link and made all the links out of DOM and johnny joints.
unfortunately there was not any replacement parts available. I know redneck ram was looking into replacement seals. Some advice is let the internal assembly sit in a freezer overnight. this helps with the reassembly.
This is the first time ever building an off road vehicle and I have done the gears, bearings, welded the trusses, DIY steering, tone rings, control arms, three link front and rear and now 14 inch coilovers. Lots of research take your time it will come together. Drives 90 mph down the highway and...
Sorry I meant to say they work only about 15 to 20 minutes after the jeep is started not using the entire duration if I drive down the road for 45 minutes put the jeep in reverse to Park the lights and camera do not work if I restart the jeep the lights and camera immediately start working again
Thing just works. Drives 80mph down the highway to and from the trails. This was 300 mile one way trip 3 days on the trails and 300 miles back zero issues. I have been to Rush, Hollerwood, and wellsville with this setup and I believe it has helped tremendously. My power steering is cooler and...
Street driving is defiantly better on a bad road. You will notice it is a little slow compared to factory but that could possibly be improved by running the pump at a higher pressure. I will say adding hydro assist was a huge improvement overall.
About 3000 miles so far and it’s working as it should. It’s great on the trails. I am running a Dana 60 kingpin with 8 inch travel lock to lock with no issues. I am also running a Detroit locker which means my front wheels are locked majority of the time in the woods and I have no issue turning...
I am running sensors to the rear. Depends what axles you run for this.
Control arms can be left in the factory positions or moved if you go with a long arm kit. I used artec trusses which keeps the ability to use factory mounting positions
I took the factory box apart. It is very easy. 7 bolts to open the steering box. I’ll post some pictures later. The trick is setting the parts in the freezer to aid in reassembly. Thanks to redneck ram for the advice.
Spent the weekend drilling tapping my steering box with success. Installed a 8inch ram and a power steering cooler for my junkyard Dana 60 kingpin. I have been driving with no stabilizer or front sway bar for the last 5000 miles and have had zero issues except for lack of power steering on the...
