We made it 24hrs and roughly 100 miles. Heading to town this afternoon so we'll test our luck again.
I jest with this whole thing. Really, you can't do a lot about it so if ur have the coverage, just drive and enjoy ur Jeeps. No reason worrying about it. It will happen... just ride it out.
My wife is on her way home with our 3rd $500 windshield replacement. 30 mile trip from town to get home. Any guesses on how long this windshield will last? Mind you, I work from home and it's not driven daily. I'm not asking for a guess on a chip since these windshields seem to crack vs...
Good luck on the recovery efforts.
I wouldn't even consider using my JL as Uber or Lift..... cannot imagine renting it out to someone I know or don't know. Not worth it in my book but to each their own. Good luck.
I went up there this year with my JL but had plates. As long as you have your passport and vehicle paperwork, you shouldn't have any issues. Just smile, answer the dude's questions and you'll be on your way.
I'm on my 3rd windshield and have always had the deflector -- no help. Lifted, not lifted, winter, summer -- doesn't seem to matter. Rocks seem attracted to the JL. I'm due for another windshield but holding out to not get my insurance company all PO at me for another claim. Oh, 12 months...
10,000 miles/10 months - no issues
100 times better than the 2015 Trailhawk that I had for sure and just more expensive than the two TJs I've owned but flawless thus far. If not, I have a warranty.
Safelite had OEM when I replaced mine and a non-OEM version that was cheaper. OEM was like $485 and the other was half that. I never heard anything about Gorilla Glass in my efforts to have it replaced.
I used to have to replace my TJ windshield every other year roughly..... JL, I'm on my second in 6 months and it's cracked. It doesn't seem to matter how big or small the stone, it just splinters and goes very quickly. I'd be interested if they have the film like Nascar that might provide...
I just consider it all the cost of playing...... Every time a box shows up at the house, I just tell my wife " It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand." and that seems to work for now.
Sure will. I grew up in Melba and know the area well. Have family in Boise/Nampa still and need to make the trek for a visit. Good excuse to bring the JL and run the hills.
Oh, certainly is taller than stock. I figure the tires are 1.5" taller (give or take) than the BFG 33's plus the 2.5" of lift -- I'm guessing 3-4" taller than stock but I never took any measurements along the way. I'm very happy with the tires and the wife likes them which makes the whole...
I do have a RC 2.5" lift. But overall, in person, doesn't seem tall. The picture makes it look a little tall I guess. So I've had these tires on for a couple weeks -- took a friend out up to the hills. He couldn't believe MT tires were so quiet on the road even with the top off. Running on...
I just had a set put on yesterday. They might be a little louder than the BFG but not by much. Even my wife said they weren't loud. Smooth ride and good handling. Spare fit without any relocation nor did I have to air it down. Heading to the hills later today to see how they do. DIscount Tire...
