  1. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Mine pulled to the right as well with old box and still pulled some with new box. I ended up installing a Falcon 2.1 Through shaft (TS) stabilizer (non adjustable cheaper version) which firmed up the feel and seem to eliminate the constant pull. I still have an annoying dead spot but at least...
  2. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Yes, options report. Had new box installed and then I checked and they used old bolts. Bad dead spot and I could not see that they flashed new EHPS software. I went back and they replaced bolts and I asked them to verify sales code. They showed me an options report with 70FA. Got home and...
  3. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

The only strange thing is my code is 70FA not just 70F. Not sure what if anything the different code means
  4. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I had the dealer show me a report but mine said 70FA which I’m still trying to figure out what that means
  5. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I think you just answered an open question I have... so it is possible to have the sales code added but not update the EHPS?
  6. Steering TSB

Posted on another similar thread: matter Looking closer at TSB 08-003-21, is it possible a dealer can not update the EHPS software but still add the Sales Code 70F? I am trying to understand if 2 distinct steps or if updating the EHPS is done by updating the Sales Code
  7. Steering worse after TSB fix.

  8. Steering TSB

Please keep us posted. I just drove about 200 miles today and am very frustrated. Under 40mph it seems good but over 40 the dead spot play is ridiculous. I am convinced it is software related especially since my sales code is slightly different than the TSB
  9. Steering TSB

Yes!!!! I was wondering why mine had 70FA and disappointed with the result. Mine feels very similar to yours where the boost seems inconsistent throughout a steering cycle and my dead zone is worse than the last aluminum version. I find that at slow speeds the feel is better and the faster I...
  10. Steering TSB

Any updAte? I have a very similar situation as yours. I also was shown a report that shows the software but it is hard to read and the code listed for steering looks incorrect
  11. New Steel Steering Box is worse

Thanks for the tips. Is the I shaft bolt close to the box under a rubber cover? I believe I need to cut the wheel to one side to have it facing up in the engine bay
  12. New Steel Steering Box is worse

Good to know. Any issue loosening the bolt and Allen head without heat? Just curious if it was relatively simple to do. I’ve watched videos on how to do the aluminum and was curious how it went for you with the steel.
  13. New Steel Steering Box is worse

Same here. Tires at 34 psi.
  14. New Steel Steering Box is worse

Same here, new box has at least 1-2” dead spot. I have new track bar as well and even confirmed with second visit software was flashed to new code. Has anyone tried adjusting the lash on the new steel box?
  15. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

I asked my dealer to run a report to show if my software was updated with my new steel steering gear. I have a report from DealerConnect and it appears to show a sales code of 70FA, not 70F. Anyone know if there is a difference? I don’t love my steering feel... and went back to my dealer to...
  16. Steering worse after TSB fix.

Here’s my experience: 2019 JLU Sahara. Had original steering gear replaced with 2nd generation aluminum box. Much better but once warmed up and on hot dAys a lot of play and dead spot. had new steel steering gear installed in January as I figured this would be the fix. Initial reaction was...
  17. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Update: had new steel steering gear installed in early January and it just didn’t feel right as the dead spot seemed worse. I checked and they used the old bolts which they are not supposed to reuse. Couldn’t verify the software update was done but suspect it wasn’t. Went back today and they...
  18. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Thank you for this! I am convinced this is the issue with mine as I have a worse dead spot at certain speeds and it is inconsistent. I am bringing mine back to the dealer to show me and or redo the sales code with me there. By any chance does the report have some type of identification besides...
