  1. Pay for warranty work??

So, does $6500 sound right for a new transmission?
  2. Pay for warranty work??

Chrysler refuses to cover it and I'm told the repair will be over $6,000. They say no sign of mechanical failure.
  3. Pay for warranty work??

If I knew I would get a fair assessment on the dealership's end and on Chrysler's end then it would only make sense to agree to the diagnostic charges. But there are plenty of stories in this thread and all over the internet about dealerships and car makers not acting fairly in this exact...
  4. Pay for warranty work??

And some people here wonder why I don't agree to pay for diagnostic. It's just a gateway to more pain.
  5. Pay for warranty work??

Well it isn't at the nearest dealership to my home. Is there a direct line for Jeep roadside assistance?
  6. Pay for warranty work??

I agree. Time to have Jeep tow it to another dealer. I paid for AAA to tow it to this dealer. Do I call Jeep Customer Care to have it towed on their dime this time?
  7. Pay for warranty work??

No one and I'm sure I could talk to everybody there and it wouldn't make a difference. I talked to Jeep Customer Care and they spoke with the dealership and everybody is saying the same thing.
  8. Pay for warranty work??

The problem is there's no one to ask. The dealership doesn't care. Jeep doesn't care.
  9. Pay for warranty work??

If I believed that then I would. The transmission obviously blew up and it sounds like they will want me to pay for it since the clutch was smoking.
  10. Pay for warranty work??

They said they need to tear it apart to find out. The only thing that could have caused the hole is the transmission exploding. Never once have I hit the undercarriage on anything and I've never rock crawled in my life.
  11. Pay for warranty work??

Heard back from Jeep after they called the dealership and they say I need to pay for 9 hours at $135/hour for diagnosis because the clutch was smoking when I brought it in and the transmission has a hole in it. At first he told me the clutch isn't under warranty but I told him it is until 12k...
  12. Pay for warranty work??

There was more of a pop. Loud enough to clearly hear but not super loud on the freeway. There was kind of a zippy/crunchy noise seemingly from the engine after that and no power. Was going uphill and all of a sudden RPMs kept going up until it redlined and popped.
  13. Pay for warranty work??

Looking forward to it. Was told 1 business day on the phone.
  14. Pay for warranty work??

    Blown transmission.
  15. Pay for warranty work??

I'll let you know as soon as I know. Still waiting to hear back from Jeep after submitting my report and receiving a case number. They were supposed to call within 1 business day and I'm on day 2.
  16. Pay for warranty work??

As best we can figure, the Jeep being covered in dried mud caused them to do this. However there was no explanation given to me besides that it's a Chrysler rule that they do this.
  17. Pay for warranty work??

If that worked these problems wouldn't exist.
  18. Pay for warranty work??

SunriseJeep, I'm sorry that any Jeep customer at any dealership in any state had to put up with that. That reflects so poorly on Jeep. Life is too short to have to flip out and deal with BS hassles like that. I used to lease a different type of vehicle and nothing like that ever would have...
  19. Pay for warranty work??

I'm walking. Currently waiting to hear back from Jeep. I have a case number.
