  1. JLU Rear Seat Removal

YW, If I had to do it again, I would put painters tape or something around the sharp brackets. Especially if you're doing it by yourself.
  2. JLU Rear Seat Removal

I pulled it out of the passenger side. Seemed easier to me, but I'd think you could lift it and pull it out the back. There are some metal brackets that will scratch paint, so keep an eye out for that as you remove it.
  3. Separate Breakaway Cable Attachment Point

Thank you Jgeiken. I'm wondering if I'm just an over-cautious type. It's looking like worrying about this is kinda like worrying whether a jet flying over will lose an engine and have it fall right on my Jeep.
  4. Separate Breakaway Cable Attachment Point

I know, me too. I'm on a certain RV forum and this topic came up. There are a few first-person horror stories of cracked frame, bumper, and/or receiver breaking completely off. Granted these aren't Wranglers, but some of them are trucks. Right now it's on the receiver like it has been for a...
  5. Separate Breakaway Cable Attachment Point

Can anyone give me ideas on where to attach my trailer brake Emergency Breakaway cable? I've been told not to attach it to the receiver (with the tow chains) at all. I have the stock plastic rear bumper. Hopefully that will change in the near future, but right now I can't see a place to attach...
  6. Can you see the hitch on the backup camera?

I can see the ball on mine, but not the receiver. Everything's stock on my JLUR. I didn't want to add an 'extender' but needed to clear the tire. Here's the hitch I have: Reese 80232 Hidden Hitch Angle-Cut Class III Ball Mount - 16" x .75" x 2", 6000 lbs.
  7. Fire result of transmission failure

My heart hurts for you. How terrifying! Glad you and your family are safe. I have no useful input but want to say thank you for sharing. If no one speaks up, very few will know of potential dangers. I respect your initiative and hope for a speedy financial and emotional recovery for you.
  8. Bumpers

Hey NathanG - That looks fantastic, and I really like the wheels too! Did the Destroyer mount to the frame rails, or the rear crossmember? Does it look like there might be a place to hook tow chains? What wheels are those, Method?
  9. JLU Rear Seat Removal

That I don't know, but I know where you can get a Tan leather 2019 JLU backseat for CHEAP! ;) I'm loving having the whole back for my dog and gear. I don't worry about 'resale' value much. I installed the Springtail platform and really like it.
  10. Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch

    Sweet! Thank you! :like:
  11. Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch

Good to know. When I tow my trailer, I can't see out the back anyway.
  12. Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch

I like it! And I like that the electrical connections are up out of the way. The stock ones just hang down.
  13. Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch

Thank you I've read until my eyes are bleary. Will keep on though. Can't figure out how to move my thread.
  14. Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch

Thank you. I can't tell that any of the bumper on the list has the hitch mounted to the frame, instead of 'compatible with factory hitch'. You are right, Exterior Mods. I'll move it if I can.
  15. Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch

Does anyone know of an aftermarket Rear Bumper for the JLU that has a Hitch mounted to the frame instead of to a crossmember like the Mopar one? If the Bumper is frame mounted, and has an 'integrated' Hitch, does that count as a "Frame Mounted Hitch"? Are there any hitches the mount to the...
  16. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

Yes please! I just moved here and need to find a good welder/shop, but it would be good to know what to ask to have done. :)
  17. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

Thank you, I really want to do that - soon.
  18. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

The SmartWeigh person weighed each tire, with and without trailer attached. Again, I am no pro, but the "Pro" said I was fine, just be careful on not adding any weight, especially to the Jeep's rear. I have some Air Lift bags I'm going to put in to level it out. Won't remove weight, but they...
  19. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

Trailer's a 2020, tongue weighed in at 420, within the "10%-15%" rule. Front lifts a little. Rear axle weighed w/o trailer = 2400 lbs, with = 3100 (right at the limit). I am no pro, and how something 'feels' is very subjective, but the steering and braking "feel" fine to me. Yes, I notice it's...
  20. Anyone Tow a Camper? Size? Pics?

I have 4.10s in my stock Rubi. Towing the max, air-con running, hills, etc, I get about 14.9 mpg unless I hit a strong headwind. I drive about 60 mph, and keep my dash display on Transmission Temperature. If I see it hitting 210, I'm looking for a safe pullover. I could go faster, but choose not...
