I ordered a 2023 Wrangler Unlimited with half doors with premium uppers. I put them one once and my wife didn’t go for it. I also bought a $350 cart to store them. I also have a bag to hold the uppers. They are 4 red doors in perfect condition.

I hadn’t driven my JLRU in weeks. Last night it scarred the crap out of me backing it out of the garage because the steering sucks so bad. I’ve been driving my new 2020 Ram 1500 and LOVE IT! But my Jeep sucks - big time. It has less than 1,000 miles on it and I just can’t deal with the sloppy...
I agree, I feel sure it’s the gear box. But my dealer refuses to replace it. So what does an owner do? I have 600 miles on mine and it’s crazy to drive.
Test drives don’t always help. Dealers know their buyers and have the sales person guide customers on certain routes. I doubt anyone would notice right away. But after an hour on the highway it gets tiring. All the corrections can wear you out.
And many of us have owned many Wranglers so we...
This unscientific survey shows that a large percentage of owners have a lot of play in the steering. Unless people are dying, I would not expect people report crap like this to the government.
Question for those of you with 1/4” to 1/2” play. Are you ok with that amount of play? I think I would be happy if I had under 1/2”, but I’m not sure. Maybe you can chime in. My gut feeling is that those of us with over 1/2” are the ones who are most unhappy.
My wife says she doesn’t feel safe...
I 100% agree. The Jeep JL is one of the top 10 of vehicles that get complaints filed with the NHTSA. And guess what the safety complaint is? STEERING! Yes, there is a problem for some of us and it goes back to why.
There is no doubt that my Jeep’s steering system has too much “play” or “slack”...
I agree, but it should not take an inch of steering wheel input BEFORE the correction begins. It should be a direct link to the steering. If you turn the wheel, it should turn the tires. There shouldn’t be any “play” or “slack”. Again, I think the steering boxes can be adjusted to tighten this...
