+1 on the PRP Seat covers. They have a really tight OEM look, and have breathable materials to prevent the swamp ass. I'd also rather spend a few hours doing it myself, than spend money paying some upholstery guy to put them on.
I would be careful adding it on top of the leather. You most likely want to glue it to the bottom of the new seat cover that you're adding. You need to glue or adhesive it to the cover, otherwise its going to move and shift over time as you keep getting in and out. You obviously don't want to...
Been in a JT with PRP Seat Covers and the heaters still worked fine. Maybe just took a little longer to get fully warm because it had to go through 2 layers instead of just 1.
Just a heads up, your probably never going to find an aftermarket seat with Air bags in them. They would have to be setup to work with each specific vehicle (JL), and there's a ton of liability with airbags that most companies wont touch with a 10ft stick.
Check out PRP Seats as well. They do...
Just use PRP's universal angle mounts. As long as that slider is 14" W they should work fine, and worst case scenario - you'll just have to drill some holes in the mounts to line up with the bolt holes on that slider. It's also half the cost than the JK adapter..... PM me if you have any...
Check out the PRP Seat ones as well. I think they have the tightest fit (that looks almost stock). But didn't cost nearly as much as the bartacts. They have some basic colors in stock, but we ended up going with a custom set.
Got an email on friday that PRP came out with Gladiator Seat Covers. Looks like they also released a customizeable center console cover that fits the JT's and JL's.
I personally don't think the leather seats are worth it for the dealer prices. You could save money by getting the cloth, then go and purchasing aftermarket seats covers that still look nice, and cost much less. Only other difference between cloth and leather is that the JLU leather rear bench...
I don't think you will be able to add the "stock" molle back that the Rubicons have. I'm assuming that the Sport/Sport S seats don't have the attachment points to put the plastic peice on the back of your seats, and if they did they would be inside the seat, which means you're going to have to...
Also check out the PRP Seat Covers. Aren't that bad of a price, and have the options to customize colors/materials. Buddy of mine went with Carbon Fiber Black for his 2 Door JL.
I talked to PRP Seats before about this (used to their seats in a JK). They basically told me that its a lot harder to install aftermarket seats into the JL's.
In the JK's all you had to do was keep the wiring harness underneath your stock seat. All you had to do was reconnect the seat belt...
You can replace the seats with aftermarket ones, but it is going to take quite a bit of work on your end, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're going for a completely torn down off-road build.
Like stated above, the side impact airbag is located inside the shoulder of each seat. When you...
