i have been talking to trailtrax seems like the ones i had where early production similar to the prototype. they have already addressed the issue so you should be fine. i would still add some kind of protection just because its metal on fiberglass its not bad and i have done far more damage...
i liked the system but had to remove it i found it started cutting into the hard top at the part that hooks between the body and hard top. i would suggest some door trim or rubber to prevent it from cutting hard top
i had this system for over a year and i have found that it started to cut into the hardtop where it hooks under the lip of the hard top. causing it to vibrate till tightened up again. then it would continue to cut into the hard top and loosen again. it just kept doing it. so i removed it and got...
im still running the system i have had no issues with it. its sturdy i dont really even notice it on the jeep im so used to it. only cons i can think of is the price and you just have to be carefull not to catch it on a branch or if going thru a tight area where the jeep leans you might hit it...

the traction boards stick out past the back of the hard top and i dont like that so i found shorter ones the Tred 800 that will fit and not stick out the back but i have not bought them yet.
