Your aux battery, for Jeeps with eTorque, is actually mounted under the Jeep. It's 48 volts and has it's own cooling system and is covered with a skid plate.

When you have the opportunity, I would like to see the mounts up close. Maybe a seperate post would be appropriate so you can focus on the box in this one. I have been considering this same thing, but was unsure how to proceed.

Exactly! In fact, this year the weather cooperated enough that I took off the hard top and didn't put the soft top on for about 3 weeks. Now the soft top is on and it only takes a few minutes to remove or add the doors and windows as needed.

It has more rumble and is louder, which was a happy side-effect for me. It doesn’t drone. Or at least I haven’t noticed a drone yet.
