My experience has been similar. I drive like Gramps and am currently at 23mpg for 1100 miles. I rarely go over 65 and don't speed on the side roads. I also take it slow out of the blocks at lights and let the youngins do their thing (speeding and shaking their heads in self righteous indignation...
Hey, I love Jeeps, but buying one for reliability and longevity is kinda like buying one for MPG. Not its strength. I'd rather enjoy it for a shorter period of time and then check out whatever improvements they've made. Technology happens!
Only 400 miles, but getting 21.5 mixed driving. Big surprise. The JK that was traded was getting 17.4 with the same driving. It seems that the new automatic does its job on the highway. Also, for us, the JKs 3.73 lowered the number.
My white JL 2 door 3.6L was delivered on Monday. This is my fourth Jeep, one YJ and two JKs, and this JL is far and away the best Jeep EVER! You all probably knew this already, but, wow, this truck is impressive!
