I think the reason you don’t hear anyone with a 2 door complaining is because there are way more 4 door owners. I pretty much have all of the same traction issues with 2 door on ko2s.
Considering FCA is having trouble making Jeeps steer straight, welding frames properly, and making clutches. I wouldn't be surprised if FCA had to tune the 3.6 conservatively in order to meet emission regulations.
I would check your fuses. My fuses were a few mm out and once I pushed them all back in, it fixed my Jeeps horrid steering and gave me my low end torque back.
I have the same shifter and it’s not worth $260 unless you really hate the feel of the stock knob. It does feel a little more tight when shifting and the knob feels great.
