Hi all,
I am exploring the idea of buying a cheap set of sport takeoff wheels to replace 37s on long road trips, because I assume having much smaller wheels will reduce nvh on the highway.
I will store four 37s and one sport wheel in the cabin, and one 37 will be on the tailgate as per usual...
Hi all,
Can anyone help me and let me know what is the part number on the stock 4 door rubicon locker wiring?
I am talking about the wiring that came from the factory with 4 pins, not the aftermarket mopar locker wiring with 2 pins and 2 blank pins.
Thanks!
Hi all,
I am using Samsung Galaxy S10 with all updates. Google maps shows correct location when I am using my phone, but when plugged in, Android Auto shows I am somewhere 500 miles away. In addition, the compass in the JL has never displayed anything other than "--"
My JL does not have...
To the shop's credit, I did bring the jeep back for them to look at. They cannot find the problem back then, and basically said " get a dealer to fix it and give us the bill".
However, judging from all the threads on this forums, it seems like the dealer will have no idea how to fix any locker...
You are absolutely right. The same shop I used messed up the floating plate on another forum member's JLUR.
However, I do not wish to spend god knows how many hours arguing with a shop 1 hour (one way) from home. A wiring harness gets the job done quicker.
After regearing, the lockers will not engage consistently, and when they do, they disengage themselves after driving about 10 ft.
"Service lockers" massage might pop on highway driving, but otherwise no locker light.
Used tazer to set to correct gear ratio and tire size.
According to Tazer...
I regeared th Rubicon and the lockers no longer work. Installed Mopar locker harness to keep using lockers.
I set the locker section to "both" under tazer jl but now I haave a permanent "SERV 4WD" light in the instrument cluster.
Hi all,
I finally took the plunge and installed the Mopar locker wiring on my Rubicon. After setting both lockers to "off" with Tazer JL, the "SERV 4WD" light came on.
The Tazer JL manual says I should also set Delete FAD, but also says this setting is for those that have done axle swaps. I...
About 500 miles after regearing, random "service axle locker system" would pop up upon startup or driving in the city or highway. Message and icon would sometimes go away on its own.
During this period, flipping the locker switch would yield the flashing locker icon on the dash, but lockers...
I could be totally wrong, I am just guessing out of my ass from a previous and recent locker error experience. When my rear locker went wrong, there might be metal flakes mixed with gear oil trapped in between or near the two pieces of the sensor.
In my case the locker eventually fixed itself...
UPDATE:
Lockers appeared to have fixed themselves by being exposed to cold temperatures (30F to 10F over a month). I can now get them to work at around 40F.
Anyway, yesterday I jacked the jeep up and popped the rear diff cover. The drain bolt has a lot of metal paste, around the same amount I...
UPDATE:
Tried lockers again today at 40 F. They engage but I need to drive back and forth for about 30 ft to engage. Lockers sometimes frequently themselves.
UPDATE:
Factory locker worked again without me doing anything. Tried lockers today and got the dash to say "(Front and) Rear Axle(s) locked".
Maybe what was lodged in the sensor assembly got flushed out. Maybe because it is around 20 F today, and my lockers went wrong in the summer. Will update...
Hi all,
Thanks for the inputs!
I have decided to remove the rear diff cover and have a look myself soon.
The plan is:
1. Determine if the e locker is receiving power by placing a wrench near the electromagnet assembly. It should be non magnetic until I press down the rear locker button.
2...
Hi all,
My Android auto disconnects very easily. Sometimes a bump will disconnect the phone.
This persists through two phones (Galaxy S8 and S10), and multiple USB 3.0 cables. Tried all three USB location in the jeep as well. No improvement.
Any insights on how to improve connection...
Please see attached picture.
It looks like some kind of insert in the axle is sliding out?
Is this normal?
What is causing this?
Should I just take the control arm off and squeeze the insert back in?
How do I prevent this in the future?
Thanks!
Thanks for the input!
Did the dealer made charge for inspection fee and/ or an entire new axle (I assume $4000+ from dealer) plus labor?
Unfortunately the 4WD shop that regeared my rear axle crushed the pinion thread for the pinion nut, which make things more complicated :(
