I use USB2 (center console) for a small thumb drive with 8 GB of music on it. It has worked fine since my 2018 jeep was new. I use the dash USB-C for my phone and the dash USB-A for my wife's iPhone.

Works great so far. I heard they are limited to 75 lbs which is much more than my kayak weighs.

My kayak (in the picture) is 12 feet long (144 inches) and it fits on my 2 door. I don't use a front or rear tie down, just the mid straps. I don't think the windshield washers would hold a load. They are just made to support a folded down windshield.
