  1. Advanced Safety Package

I have the ACC and FCW system. I can address many of the issues raised here as well, since I am also a rated Airline Transport Pilot, as well as a paramedic. Flying, as well as driving, should be an exercise in risk management. This simply means that, weighing the odds of various actions and...
  2. Does an aluminum front bumper make any sense for a JL Rubicon?

I had the steel patriot bumper on the front of my 2014 JKUR. It worked great for towing behind my motorhome. I hit a Buffalo with it and there was virtually no damage to the bumper, but unfortunately my Jeep was totaled, mainly because the right A pillar got pushed back about an inch. Now I...
  3. JLUR Dead Battery (Update-Im told bad alternator)

Actually, I have reported that. My 2019 JLUR 2.0 had the 12V battery fail in its second week. Not only were we unable to start it with a battery jump box, combined with a starter charger, but I also could not get the transmission (auto) to shift out of park, even using the override. We ended...
  4. BSG Experience?

I really don't understand all the people upset over the ESS. Mine comes on instantly when I start to lift the brake pressure a little. Slight lag only if you come off the brake and immediately jam the gas, otherwise not noticable. Its really more a matter of learning to drive a bit...
  5. Poor Gas Milage 2.0L eTorque (BSG) mild hybrid system.

I have a very light foot. I was averaging 16-17 for the first 500 miles. Then I started getting a check engine light that had no associated error code. It turned out I had a small vacuum leak in one of the vacuum controllers. The fixed that and my mileage has jumped up to about 18 city and...
  6. Yet more 48v questions

No, it doesn't. My 12V battery died, bad cell, almost immediately after purchase of my 2019 JLRU. Not only would the engine not start, even with a jump box, but I couldn't get the auto transmission into neutral, even using the override cable (hidden in front of the shift lever). We ended up...
  7. Be Cautious with ESS

Well, frankly I disagree with much of what is said here. I've got 2000 miles with my ESS system and its never been an issue. The key is to understand its function, how it functions, and fully incorporate awareness of it into your driving. This is a fundamental aspect of professional driving...
  8. Giveaway: Hothead Headliners Hard Top Headliner For Jeep JL!

Absolutely planning to install some kind of sound deadening headliner in my new JLUR. could be this one!
  9. Replacing Rubicon Fogs Without Removing Bumper?

Just curious. Why are you replacing? I would love something that was more driving than fog
  10. Rubicon as a Highway Driver...What? all Good to report...

The 2019 owners manual is now available online. the bar you see are relative distances to be set from the vehicle in front of you. there is an up down button on the right side of the steering wheel that allows you to choose the distance.
  11. Rubicon as a Highway Driver...What? all Good to report...

Ditto, just did a round trip to the beach in my 2019 Rubi URJL, 2.0. Nice ride. Loved the adaptive cruise control. Mileage was around 24-26 the entire way for the 600 mile round trip.
  12. Just Received my 2019 JL Rubicon Unlimited

The steering is fine. I've noticed nothing untoward. Charlie
  13. Just Received my 2019 JL Rubicon Unlimited

Ok, here are your pics. I did not find any sensors on the front bumper, just the one behind the rearview mirror inside. The rear bumper definitely has 4 sensors for the parksense option. As for active braking, the setup clearly shows it as a setting option. Unfortunately, so far, that 2019...
  14. Adaptive cruise control sensor location/aftermarket bumpers

I did a careful look at my new JL and took some pics. I did not find any sensors on the front bumper. There are definitely sensors on the rear bumper that are used with the parksense option. I have attached pics of those. I also took an exterior pic of the sensors behind the rearview...
  15. Just Received my 2019 JL Rubicon Unlimited

OK, I through in a pic of my Helo just for fun.
  16. Just Received my 2019 JL Rubicon Unlimited

No, I don't know when it went into KZ. Here are some pics. I included one of the setup screen for the forward collision warning. It clearly lists active braking as an option. Notice the clearance over the wheels. This thing sits at least 2" higher than my old 2014 Rubicon. Options Rubicon...
  17. Just Received my 2019 JL Rubicon Unlimited

I placed my order on the first day of ordering, Sept 12 I think it was or thereabouts. Fully loaded Rubicon Unlimited with most options. It showed up at the dealer yesterday and I picked it up today. Still too new to have any real ideas. My previous Jeep was a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited that...
