  1. Reliability

To echo some of the previous comments... Don’t buy a Wrangler just because it looks cool. Buy it because you want and plan to use it’s capabilities. (Which are exceptional) Don’t buy a Wrangler to commute to work daily. There are many cheaper, more reliable and more efficient choices out there...
  2. JL Reliability Opinions/Thoughts

2018 JLUR with 20k miles. Ordered from factory in Aug 2018. The fuel pressure regulator failed after 4K miles. Had to replace the entire fuel pump assembly to fix under warranty. Every once in a while the backup camera doesn’t work. Very intermittent. I’ve had a few windshield stone chips but...
  3. Got the V41 recall work done

Had my SS installed at the dealer per the recall yesterday. They installed it upside down so I had to return and have them fix that. Also had them do a Jeep Wave oil change. To my surprise they put in 5 quarts this time instead of 6 quarts last time. Yay! It has taken 2 years for them to learn...
  4. Post a screenshot of your average MPG here!

I've gotten 22.5 mpg over the past 2,864 miles. Mixed driving including highway, city and offroad 4WD. It's a 2018 bone stock Unlimited Rubicon with the 3.6L. My 2010 Toyota Sequoia 4WD gets 15-18mpg so, the Jeep is my "economy vehicle"! Yes, this picture was taken at 66mph but, someone else...
  5. Reminder: 5 quarts of oil to avoid oil overfill

Had my first oil change at the dealer back in Nov 2018. After reading this thread I checked my oil level. I found the level on the dipstick to be about an inch up the wire above the max level. Took the Jeep back to the dealer and they were clueless. They changed the oil for free and showed me...
  6. 2018 JLUR 3.6L intermittent no start

I was able to demonstrate the no-start problem to my service writer. He even took a video of the event on his phone. But, that wasn’t proof enough for the tech and the service manager. So, I suggested that the tech take my Jeep home at night and check codes when it failed to start. My Jeep...
  7. 67 Designs RAIL now available for the JL

The 20mm balls come in 2 flavors: 1) Flat nut 2) Roll nut. If you have the flat nut you have to insert it into one of the ends of the JL E-Dock. Only the roll nut type can be installed from the top. 67D 20mm base I have the Vector 20mm prototype balls which are similar to the 67D flat nut design.
  8. 2018 JLUR 3.6L intermittent no start

Other than you and me, I don’t see any other JL owners in the various Jeep forums experiencing this same problem. It sounds like we simply won the “bad luck lottery” and got stung by the “bathtub curve” of electronics’ infant mortality. I’m coming to Jeep ownership after 13 years of Toyota...
  9. Very Satisfied With My LoD Destroyer Bumpers

Did you relocate your factory LED fog lights to the LOD front bumper or are those aftermarket fog lights? I’ve got the plastic front bumper on my JLUR and will someday replace it but, I want to keep the LED fog lights.
  10. 2018 JLUR 3.6L intermittent no start

Got my Jeep back today with the new fuel pump installed. So far, no starting issues. Appears to be fixed. Yay!

You may find this video on YouTube informative: Talks about your tire with and without bead locks.
  12. Navigation tools

The iPad Air2 has no internal GPS capability whatsoever. That's where the Dual XGPS150A comes in. It is an external GPS antenna that connects to your Apple or Android device. Yes, you could hard wire a USB cable to it to keep it charged but, it will run for 8 hours on its own internal battery. I...
  13. Navigation tools

I agree 100%. Gaia is the best GPS app for overlanding. You can see forest service roads, fire roads and BLM roads. Superb maps and very reasonable price. Free for basic and $95/year for Premium. I use an iPad Air2 that only has WiFi. To make it work I bought a Dual Electronics XGPS150A. They...
  14. 67 Designs RAIL now available for the JL

I’m really pleased with my setup: Vector Offroad JL E-dock Vector Offroad 20mm mount balls 67D iPhone squeeze mount 67D nano CF arm Ram EZ-roller iPad Air2 holder 67D mini CF arm 67D AMPS plate The Vector rail mounts closer to the front edge of the dash than the 67D rail but, it works with all...
  15. “Service Stop/Start System”

My 2018 JLUR displayed this Auto Start/Stop error the day after I washed the engine bay. (went offload at Windrock OHV Park and got mud everywhere). Error showed every time I drove the Jeep that day. The next day the error was gone and has never returned. I suspect something got wet and caused...
  16. 2018 JLUR 3.6L intermittent no start

Hi guys. New forum member here. Just got my special order 2018 JLUR in August. It has 4,300 miles. Love it but... Engine won't restart when up to operating temp but, shut off for 15 to 60 minutes. So if I drive it for an hour, shut it off and then try to restart it after 15 to 60 minutes the...

Hi guys...new forum member here. Yes, I'm having these exact problems with my 2018 JLUR with the 8.4 Uconnect. My Jeep is at the dealer today getting a software update that's supposed to fix this. We'll see...
