Thanks! Seems like the Maximus-3 loops are the way to go (can't compromise safety).
Blue-Ox makes adapters that have a 1" wide opening that could fit the Arcus tow hooks. I'm shying away from this solution.
Hi, I have this same bumper and looking for a solution to flat tow. Did you have to cut into the bumper to install the Maximus tow loops?
Also, any reason why you shouldn't tow from the tow hooks already installed on the bumper? Blue Ox makes some adapters to be able to connect to them.
Sounds like your rear DIFF is knocking. Does the MOAB edition have the Limited Slip Dana 44?
I think you have the issue on this thread: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/knock-in-rear-with-dana-44.16921/page-88#post-1326900
My Sport S with the Limited slip rear has had this noise...
I noticed the part number on the case kit is different than the part they used on mine in 2019 (Part# 68401154AB). It must be a newer version of the case assembly. Is that the same part # they used on your 1st fix?
Here's the repair history on mine. Purchased the Jeep in late September of 2018. It is currently at the dealer on it's 4th fix. They are using the same faulty part number. Did I mention it's been at the dealer for nearly 2 months?
Update - Got my Jeep back yesterday, 11/18. Here's...
As far as I know. Only the Dana 44 with Limited Slip is affected. Equipped on Sport S and Sahara models. What Chrysler has been doing is either replacing the carrier assembly or the entire rear axle. Yes, it continues to fail after they "fix" it. I'm on my 4th "fix". Fails every 5-6 moths.
I too wonder if it is safe to drive. It took over 2 weeks for my case manager to call me. And that was after a lot of complaining from me on why I had not received a call. The last 3 times I have dealt with this the case managers communicated promptly. Not sure what the deal is this time...
Yeah, that's my concern. Then it will void the warranty. You are right about time and frustration. It's been a roller-coaster ride. My little Dana 30 in the front is holding up like a champ! Trying to find some silver lining here....
I am going through the same nightmare. My Jeep is at the dealer for the 4th time now and they just told me yesterday about the Axle that is on order. It's the same one as before! At a loss of what to do.
Mine has started knocking again. This will be the 4th time I'm having to deal with this defect.
1st - replaced carrier assembly and one of the axle shafts
2nd - replaced carrier assembly
3rd -replaced entire axle
@JeepCares - Help! There has to be something different that can be done to...
I had a similar rattle on mine. I added some electrical tape to the tailgate where it sits on that plastic guide (tailgate stabilizer I think it's called.) underneath the latch. Hope I'm explaining it right. Jeep puts some nylon tape. The nylon tape had worn out . That stopped the rattle.
Didn't notice anything until I got up to speed merging on the freeway. Jeep started shacking. Felt like a flat. Immediately let off the accelerator and that's when the wheel flew off.
