I got the same story from Uhaul
I just went to Homedepot and rented a trailer.
I did mention that Uhaul would not rent it to me because I own a Jeep.
There response was "I dont care if you tow it with a bicycle as long as it has a hitch and lighting hook up."
Moral of the story, don't take no...
i bought a module that was added to the circuit. When you start up it remembers where the button was pushed or not when you turned it off.

The only concern with splice the wires (because the JK connectors to not match the JL) is that you may draw to much power.
So would it not be simpler to just convert the trailer lights to LED?
Are you kidding me, the JK wiring hardness took 30 minutes and you were done.
