FCA mention in their original press release that all FCA vehicles will be on the new Uconnect 5 platform by 2022. Again if it's not this year, it will be next year for the Wrangler. It's being rolled out in phases.
It seems most of the 21 and 22 FCA vehicles are getting the update along with the 22 RAM now as well. If it’s not 22 for Wrangler, it is definitely 23. Uconnect 4 is being completely phased out and I would be hesitant to buy a new vehicle with it now.
If you are a tech guy and want the latest gadgets. I would just wait for the 23 Wrangler. Expect a 360 camera system, uConnect 5 (larger screen, requires changes to dash), wireless charging, etc. Most of the 21 FCA lineup is already debuting with these new features, but Wrangler likely won’t...
This is nice, but having a 360 camera would be much better, especially for the Rubicon. Hopefully the 360 camera will be an available feature in the upcoming refresh. The Bronco will already have this option.
But this is a positive direction.
Gladiators are being discounted due to them being highly overpriced and its also odd looking as well. Not a good combination.
I actually don’t disagree with you. I think the 2 door is a perfect commuter vehicle, but the sales split tells a different story. Americans will always prefer larger...
I like the 2 door, but I like space of the 4 door with a longer wheelbase. The 4 door was introduced to expand the customer base and increase sales, which was a smart move by Chrysler.
Remember when the market was flooded with 2 door vehicles? No more. They are not practical everyday vehicles...
Rubicon will either come standard with 35s and a 2 inch factory lift or they will sell it as a package/special edition model. Interior updates are a given since it will have the new Uconnect 5, which will come with a 12 inch screen.
Most of the updates will be tech and the interior to reach...
My gf thinks the Wrangler is a "cute" vehicle. However, she thinks the new Bronco is not and looks like a small truck and a toy, which is not cute lol.
It will be interesting to see what the split is for men and women concerning the Bronco since it does have more of rugged, boxy and masculine...
Agreed. No excuse for their largest market not having this as an option 2018. It makes absolutely no sense. Now that the Bronco is arriving, they now decide to add it. Such BS.
35 inch standard on Rubicon
360 camera standard (perfect for off-roading)
Power driver seats
Body mounted mirrors
12 inch touchscreen (will likely debut with Uconnect 5)
I still think the Wrangler is the better looking off-road vehicle. The interior is still top notch. FCA has always made...
I recently had a rental with a 360 camera; it was awesome. It was very hard going back to a standard backup camera. Ford having this is a definite bonus.
Another positive about the Bronco that it is much roomier than the Wrangler, which is perfect for a daily driver.
I was going to order the 2021 Wrangler, but I decided to hold off. No rush to get a new vehicle. I will wait to test drive the Bronco and go from there.
Agreed. The introduction of the 4 door was a game changer. It expanded the customer base. Mall crawlers and soccer moms are the reason why the Wrangler still exists. Otherwise it would have gone the way of other 2 door SUVs.
I found some pics of the 2 door cargo area. Look at that space. Ford did their homework. Great for those who prefer a 2 door. I think the 2 door Bronco looks awesome. It will be interesting to see the split in terms of sales with the 2 door and 4 door.
Great debut Ford. Exceeded all my expectations. Love the interior; screen is going to look fantastic. Power seats as well?! I can’t believe Wrangler still has manual seats. What was the excuse again?
Competition has finally come to this segment. Hopefully other manufacturers join soon.
Correct. He did state that. However, if FCA desires to put a V8 in the Wrangler. They certainly have the engineering know how to acccomplish it and ameliorate any of the safety concerns. It just costs money to do it.
My interest in the 4-door Wrangler is definitely for the cargo space. The 2 door is just too small and not practical. It looks like the 2 door Bronco will have a decent cargo area and the fact that it is slightly larger than the Wrangler, is a definite plus.
I've decided to hold off on...
