  1. Did 2022 orders from Gupton get delivered in a reasonable amount of time.

My friend ordered a Rubicon on 12-01-21 it delivered 3-15-22. I ordered a TRX on 12-28-21 it delivered on 4-22-22. They could have communicated better but overall it was a good experience. Renee and Daniel were my contacts. Yes I did have some shipping delays. Best wishes on your purschase.
  2. Why Rubicon instead of Sport S when upgrading tires?

I bought a Rubicon because the stickers are pretty!
  3. 4.88 or 5.13?

Good for you. Let us know what you think of the new gears.
  4. ESS Broken After Regearing

I also had two issues after the regear. (JLUR 6 speed 5.13) Stop start and back up camera would work only on initial start up. So took it in to the dealer and they recalibrated the computer and everything works well now. They did not seem concerned about the regear at all, I guess they have done...
  5. REGEAR WHAT PARTS DO I NEED?

Had a local shop do my regear on a JLUR 6 speed (5.13's) and then couple of months later took it in to the dealer for a free oil change, track bar mount recall, a stop start and back up camera issue. They said that the 35's were causing the fault, I then told them about the regear and they...
  6. 4.88 or 5.13?

I think that the JL with a six speed is better at slow speeds with 5.13's than it was stock. My wife drives this thing every day, and she continues to comment on how much she prefers the new gears. First gear is a little short, but after that everything seems as it should be. I think you will...
  7. ESS Broken After Regearing

My ESS has worked on and off since the regear. When I take it in for the first free oil change, I will have them check. I actually think it is unrelated as my back up camera works on and off too.
  8. 4.88 or 5.13?

I do not think you are stupid, I agree with everything you said. I too prefer deep gears in my vehicles. I am currently running 5.13's In a JLUR 6 speed with 35's. With two overdrive gears in Jeeps JLs they are still easy to drive on the interstate even with 5.13's. Why not consider 5.38's...
  9. Question of gearing ratio's

This is great advice!! But good luck on following it. If you are already talking about upgrades before you have bought a JL, then the mod bug will bite you hard, once you get it in your hands :)
  10. For those going with 37s, are you regearing??

I have a JKLUR with 35's with a six speed manual. I am running 5.13s. No one thinks twice about spending big bucks for tires and wheels, but many people are reluctant to spend 1500-1800 to regear. Regrearing your Jeep will transform the way it drives. Is it necessary to regear? No, but...
  11. JLU Rubicon Auto: 35" and 37" - Regearing Math

No need to really over think this. Lower gears are great fun and make for a sweet ride! You will swear the engine has more power and that the Jeep is 500 lb lighter too. Modern Jeeps have crazy overdrives (for EPA purposes) and they do not really work well outside of the EPA cycle. In real life...
  12. Question of gearing ratio's

Yes you can regear the axles for better acceleration. A rubicon will come with 4.10's and you have the aftermarket option of going as low as 5.38's. Lots of opinions on this, but I went with 5.13s in a six speed manual and we love it. It seems the automatics have more closely spaced gears and...
  13. M/T a bit frustrating

Highway driving is just fine, with 35's I think it is perfect. I would not be afraid of 5.38's with the 37's. This is the way FCA should have produced the Rubicon from the factory. An indicated 55mph is right at 2000 rpm (actual speed is 58.3) as I did not recalibrate the speedometer when we...
  14. What’s wrong with my powder coating!??

That does not look right, the finish on properly powder coating parts should be very durable, plus they are completely cured when they are cool after coming out of the oven. I am always surprised and how quickly businesses blame the customer for anything that goes wrong. Maybe if you tell the...
  15. Regear for 37's on a JLU Sahara 6 Speed?

I spent 1000.00 on parts and 800.00 on labor. let us know what you decide to do.
  16. Regear for 37's on a JLU Sahara 6 Speed?

Yes you are right, I did not consider the dana 30 in the front. 5.13 was a good choice for us, hilly here in east TN. at 55 mph we are just in the power band of the 3.6. So we love the new gears, it drives like I think it should, never seems like a low geared trail only rig. First gear is low...
  17. Regear for 37's on a JLU Sahara 6 Speed?

Regearing is something that few people have done, but many people have strong opinions about. Maybe some one in your area has a JL with lower gearing that you can talk to, or even drive. You will transform the way your Jeep drives with new gears, I personally have regeared several of the cars I...
  18. JLUR on 37s regear 4.56 or 4.88

I have a sx speed JL Rubicon on 35's, just put 5.13 in last week. This is the way it should have come from the factory. It is not a crazy low geared trail only Jeep. If 37's were being considered then 5.38' would be my pick. Regearing your Jl will be the best money you ever spent.
  19. M/T a bit frustrating

I agree, I also live where it is hilly and I found these engines need a lot more rpm to pull each gear. I came from a 2008 JK Rubicon 6 speed with 4.10, it was slow, but did not need constant shifting, it would pull each gear at a lower rpm than our new JLU Rubicon with 4.10's and a six speed...
