Jumping in this thread way late, but looking at these as my shock component for my lift kit. Love your unbiased review. Quick question though: Was your set intended for a lift kit? ie, it was meant to be paired with a 2.5-3in lift? If so, that would be your contributing factor to the 1in of lift...
I love the look of those yellow shocks! When I had my JK, I had the Eibach sport lift and the thing was so stiff it rode like a beefed up golf cart. This time around I am looking for something to get me a bit higher without sacrificing the softer ride of the Sahara. I'll do some fire roads...
I have an JLU Sahara as well. I like the softer ride of the stock suspension. How does the ride firmness/quality of light duty kit compare to stock? Any pictures of your JLU after install?
I personally haven’t mounted either size on a stock wheel, but I’ve seen a lot of people mount different 285’s on stock wheels without issues. If I am not mistaken, I think that is the stock size on most JL and JK rubicons. I think that is about the largest size you can go without issues. I do...
Load range and ply count are the main factors. The Milestars have a higher load rating so they are very stiff compared to stock tires (normally). They are also heavier as a result. To offset the stiffness, you run a lower psi.
Believe it or not, there really isn’t a noticeable difference in...
I’m not betting on them being great for on road snow conditions. From my recent experience, the soft compound does not do well on cold roads and the sipes only descend about 1/8 down into the tread. I think once I have another 5-7k miles the siping will disappear for the most part. Between that...
I’ve had the spare on for about
Sorry for responding late to this, just saw it.
I’ve had my spare on for about 8 weeks and 1500 miles. The mount is still solid and seems to be baring the weight well. My concern is that with the increases offset, the tire doesn’t fully seat against the rubber...
Funny thing you mentioned this. The day after I got mine, I had a strong wheel shimmy at 55+. It became nauseating at 65+ and tough to hold the wheel. I took it back to DT for rebalance. Turns out, I had 2 tires that were out of round and they had to order 2 new tires.
I didn't see a lot of non-Rubi's or 33's, so I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon here and share my experience with my JL Sahara. I tired to hit the common themes in the thread as well.
I picked up 5 Milestar Patagonia MT in 275/70r18 with Vision Manx 398 wheels, 18x9 +18 offset (roughly 5.7in...
